Can’t prove it but I’m pretty sure there’s a bug that causes necros to lose lifeforce…

In WvW I’d be roaming around trying to cap ruins, hit an enemy player a few times with marks and still end up with 0% lifeforce. There are also times I would be fighting for a while and suddenly need lifeforce to realize that I don’t even have enough.

I have a theory that it may be due to condis. The latest two times I noticed a low lifeforce count were during fights with a condi mesmer and another necro.

I’d like to think I’m not just crazy.

… I still want tengu.

I am unsure how to interpret this.

Do you have Soul Marks traited? 3% isn’t game breaking, even if it is intended to proc on minions and illusions. Assuming you have traited it, what else are you using to generate Life Force?

I just visually saw the life force bar drop almost 10% out of nowhere. Now is there any reason the life force bar should ever be dropping?

Did you swap to a weapon set that does not increase vitality?

Did you swap to a weapon set that does not increase vitality?

Yeah this is likely it….

If you use dire on your MH set, and swap to Rabid (which I have on my stack weapons), you do notice the life-force adjustment from the bar.

Your life force isn’t changing, your HP is changing, so becauase your available pool of life-force can be bigger with the increase in vitality, it looks like it is getting smaller.

I doubt it is.
Hammerguard said he ends up with 0% after using marks. If that’s the case, then he either doesn’t know which skills regenerate life force or there really is a bug with Soul Marks.
And “…it may be due to condis” is rather vague to say the least, some more detailed explenation would be helpful here.

Btw the only scenario where you actually lose life force on weapon swap is when you have 96-100% life force on your vitality set. If you then switch to your non-vitality weapon it cuts off the excess life force and leaves you with 95% when you switch back. It only stays at 100% if you have full life force on both sets.

Well, if I try to read too much in the OP, I have a hard time rationalizing anything he said. He doesn’t mentioned soul marks, so he likely didn’t have that trait, so it is safe to say his marks didn’t and shouldn’t generate life force.

I notice my life for bar “shifting” when I change around vitality stats. I agree you don’t lose any life force except in the case you mention, but I know of zero cases where I have ever seen my LF bar go to zero, without using DS to then bring it down to zero, which seems to be what the OP is saying.
