Really? Right after the guy says he doesn’t need a build you post a build, not a really great build either. Very lacking in condi duration. This is basically a tpvp build in full dire…. with no stunbreaks and the worst signet in existence.

If you are looking for guides I’m not sure there is much in the way of condi necro guides, some guy named methane gas has a few videos as does another named Holl. But if you add me in game I’d be happy to help.

Don’t use this build, their are better runes, better sigils and better utilities for wvw. I’m not going to write out a full guide, but it would help if you could say if you want to roam by yourself or in a group. Since you don’t want a build, I assume you already have one, it would be helpful if I knew exactly what gear you had.

As a quick starter, you generally will want to run at least 1 stunbreak in wvw. Flesh Wurm is great, it allows you to create space easily like you would on any other class (try summoning it at the spawn). Spectral Walk can similarly be used to create space, although it requires a bit of getting used to. Spectral Armor is also good for building life force and reducing the damage you take. Well of Power is also decent, I tend to stay away from it because it isn’t always effective, but can nullify a ton of damage if timed correctly (burning turns to aegis, this single handedly destroys medi guard and d/d ele burst combos). That leaves plagues signet which I stay away from because the passive is bad and the active is situational. Although it does get stronger against multiple enemies piling conditions on you.

Another general tip is to remember that condition necros have 2 ranged weapon sets. This means it is smart to use your soft cc (look for skills with chill, cripple or immobilize), your fears (doom and reaper’s mark to start), and mobility (flesh wurm, spectral walk, warhorn 5) to keep space between you and your opponent if that opponent is using a melee weapon. This is how you can mitigate a lot of melee damage as a necro. The exception to this is dark path which teleports you to your target, but also chills your opponent allowing you to open space again.

Against ranged opponents you often will still be fine keeping a nice gap between you and them, but that won’t always work (longbow rangers will own you if you try to do this). I suggest trying to line of sight ranged opponents. This basically means you hide behind something or move down a hill so that their ranged attacks don’t hit you. Often your opponents will then run to you giving you a chance to land some conditions (if a ranger just has its pet attack you, kill the pet).

A lot of the necromancer class is about maintaining good positioning so you give yourself an advantage. This is true in pvp, wvw solo roaming, wvw group roaming, and zergs. You’ll be doing yourself a favor if you can get good at maintaining that perfect spacing between you and your opponent. Also, remember to learn a little bit about the other classes, so you know what their strengths weaknesses and general skill set are.

Necros don’t have reflects, invulns, vigor, blocks,
extra dodges, real stability, mobility skills,
burst skills, sustain, or good support. GG ANET.
