Love Minions, hate the way they look.

I would pay for Creepy Dolls or Undead Animals ;p.
I think that’s a fantastic idea. If I ever get a chance to talk to a Dev I will beg him for this, but I think the coding behind it would be seriously complex.
I might be a bit biased here.. but I would love to change bone minions into undead chickens. You know, the kind that explode in cursed shores.
I wouldn’t change a thing, really. I hated them at first, until I zoomed in and got a hi-rez point of view. I like how they’re not technically “zombies,” since that would be Zhaitan-evil. But they are chunks of corpses stitched together in really disgusting ways. I think it’s very fitting with the Necromancer style flavor and love how they gross out my wife when we’re grouping.
I’ve always wondered, where I got the tiny humanoid skulls from for the bone minions/jagged horrors (I honestly can think of a single creature that’d have that shape skull at that size…)

There’s probably a tag on the back that says ‘do not tumble dry’.

Because people die, and there is no age limit. I imagine in “reality” Zhaitan (or any other of the deadly creatures) doesn’t exactly hold back because you aren’t an adult.

So I’m using foetus skulls to create my suicide bombing minions…
…And Zhaitan is the bad guy here?

This is probably a strange concept to most people, but why would them being human corpses suddenly be bad? In the first game, we killed people then blatantly mutilated their corpses to create minions to kill their comrades. People keep saying they wanted to play the dark caster, don’t shy away from the actual dark parts of it :P

There’s some sort of social stigma attached to utilizing unborn children though…
Human corpses is fine.
Unborn human children seems a bit far, especially when you’re going to explode it in an undignified manner (Possibly using parts of it again in another creation…)

It does look like the skull of a child, to be fair.

Kind of a morbid topic. But anyway, like you said, its a social stigma, of OUR society, not theirs. There are a lot of cultures that have absolutely no problem using actual live children in combat, why would we assume Tyria to be any different? Especially the Charr, who murdered plenty of innocent children during their war with the Humans (who I’m sure murdered plenty of Charr children). Its war, war is no place for cultured people.
I summon swarms of locusts to make myself run faster. Nobody seems to mind. I suck the life force out of everything around me periodically just to boost my own “Spirit Armor” (yes, even bunnies). Nobody cares. I spread poison and bleeding wounds far and wide and turn the ground I walk on into a toxic waste just to make my enemies tired. Everyone’s fine with that.
But I use one baby skull to make a pet, and suddenly everyone goes to pieces?! And they call me the sick-o?!

I dunno, the skulls look more down-scaled than infant to me. Sort of like how charr cubs are just regular charr but shrunken and with different voices.

I lol’d. And people say they don’t feel Necromancers fit the “dark caster” archetype.

Actually, I just logged in (I had to), and looked at the comparative skull sizes. Compared to my human female character, who is the minimum height possible, they are pretty similar, the rats aren’t actually all that small, including the skulls, which appear much closer to adult size when you look at it.

possible change up arena net could of done with minions
look at the risen , they look undead , switch out the risen undead with the current necro pets and every necromancer would be needing to pinch themselves because they would think they were dreaming
our blood fiend would be a risen wizard
our bone minions would be 2 skellys with swords
our shadow fiend would be a risen wrath
our bone fiend would be a skelly with a bow
our flesh worm would be a big skelly arm from the ground that throws stuff
our flesh golem would be a risen abomination
if arena net did this i would die of a stroke . but i would have a big ole smile on my face because i would be happy
I wish they would make them actually look undead, not jus random >Completely Clean< bodie parts put together.
That and the flesh golem from Guild Wars lookd 10x better then this one
I want undead exploding chickens! We wouldn’t be having these morbid discussions about baby skulls if bone minions were exploding chickens instead. Make it happen XD

Is head size tied to height as well as its own setting? I feel like I should know this given all those alts but eh.
My comparison is mainly based on dead enemies on the floor and staring at the jagged horror as it fails its way into battle, so it’s possible I was looking at something larger than actual human characters (can they be as big as risen are now, or do those like… expand when wet?).
I’d go for cute skins as much as I’d go for more undead looking ones. Call me weird, but having a bunch of fluffy bunnies killing people (and exploding) seems just as fun.
‘Rally ambient creatures’ should be some kind of ability…

Haha, that actually made me laugh out loud. You could scream Killer Rabbits. Than have an engineer run in with his Holy 100nades

I don’t know, and its certainly possible that it was only looked similar because of the comparative view points. I’d assume that it would be tied though, otherwise heads would look a bit… childish for small characters, and kinda small for big ones.

Just as long as you remember to count to five three beforehand!

I do miss the old GW1 minion skins, I think with updated GW2 graphics they would look downright terrifyingly disgusting. I will say though, I enjoy blood fiend, that floppy floating gutbag never ceases to please my morbid side, and flesh wurm, he looks pretty sick too. The rest, while extremely well detailed and artfully done, just don’t measure up as mindless killing fleshwalkers like the GW1 minions did.
~Surrender fiend and you will get an easy death
~I could promise you the same…but it would be a lie…
True Minion Pack (aka version for guys in terms of commercialization):
1) Aatxe instead of Flesh Turkey elite
2) Reduce Demon Sperm (aka shade/shadow fiend) into a animation and it summons a Rift Warden instead
3) Bone minions are the small claw piles of flesh they were in GW1 while Jhorrors turn into undead chicken from orr
4) Bone Fiend also gets his half cut raptor form back from GW1
5) Lich = Dhuum
Grave-warden pack (aka girl version)
1) Bone minions are patched up pale skeleton princesses (like the human wintersday mini, but nightmare before christmas skin)
2) Bone fiend is a nice little skeleton with top hat and cane that throws his own head.
3) Blood fiend gets to be a flesh bat with nice blobbing blood crying eyes
4) Flesh Wurm is now a nice big shadow tentacle that shoots off blobs of green goo~
5) Flesh Turkey elite now gets to be a ghastly charger warhorse with flames under his feet
I think the Bone Minions in GW2 are a lot cuter(?) than their GW1 counterparts, although I admit I do miss the look of the Bone Horrors and Bone Fiends from GW1. The Bone Fiends, in particular; I’m not really a fan of the “flayed devourer” look of the GW2 version.
