Since Anet has no intention on fixing minion AI after three years how about add the “Attack my Target” function that the ranger has. This could even be expanded on by adding the Guard and Avoid Combat tabs. Wouldnt be too hard since its already working on the ranger. This would keep minions from standing there doing nothing while I’m in combat. You could even set your minnions to attack one target while you focused another.

We’ll never get those functions, nor should we. Minions simply need a reliable AI or bandaid that makes them consistently attack my current target.

I +1 this it is nuts already, how do you go three years with broken AI on a class where the minions are a STAPLE of the profession as pets are to rangers, or as phantasms are to mesmers?? makes zero sense to me why a simple fix or “bandaid” as someone mentioned can’t be applied…I mean seriously you guys just did a trait overhaul w the last patch you couldnt fix AI for one class mechanic?

Or better yet if it is unable to be fixed, TELL US so these posts stop coming up!

Necromancer

  • Fleshgolem: Fixed Tooltip to better reflect the skills functionality:
    “Summon a Fleshgolem that has a 20% chance to attack your target with crippling claws.”

Where did you see that it would be in the next patch? got a link to share?

My minions love to go afk as soon as I get into down state. They just stand there and watch me struggle until I hopefully get a rally, then they spring back into consciousness… Of course my minions could have actually kept attacking my enemy and rallied me on there own instead of abruptly stopping for no reason. Regardless of how good the AI is, all it needs to do is attack my target without fail. I don’t even want a command to make them attack, I just want them to keep attacking my enemy until it’s out of a specific range from me or its dead. I’m used to them running off after an enemy even after I stop attacking, what I can’t stand is when they just go dormant and accomplish nothing.

I would personally just love to have many,but not-so-smart minions. It just fits the current gameplay, as we have traits like Death Nova and AI dies pretty frequently anyway, no matter how much health you give that single minion.

Something I loved when playing AB on Fort Aspenwood as Minionmancer – just spam kitten load of minions with Aura of the Lich and other skills and let them do their thing in a very chaotic way.
Alternatively, I’d like to see Minionmancer more akin to Abathur from HotS – perferably staying away from the middle of teamfights, but supporting allies from long range, streaming waves of minions.

MM in GW2 never attracted me because I don’t feel like commanding an undead horde, just couple lazy and annoying AIs who are supposed to have more “deep” gameplay with Actives, but they don’t work.

I personally want them to remove the decay of Jagged Horror hp. That way you could actually build up a horde of minions, who’s drawback would be weakness to aoe damage and are not commandable.

Also, second idea: why don’t we have a minion we can command to be a meat shield and block projectiles???

I’ve heard that fixing AI with the next patch bull before..

3 years and AI still isnt working properly..

only a week ago I spend an entire pvp game with my minions aimlessly standing around doing nothing..

This is the kind of crap that makes the MM a less viable playstyle for people..
its a great way to play but only when the game works.. and when it doesnt.. the Necro looses a massive chunk of his DPS, Healing, CC and survivability..

Nobody should be subject to such a massive screw you by poor system AI.. its utterly unfair and after 3 years this should be a huge priority imo

If Anet don’t or can’t fix the AI then at least give us a similar F command skill so we can force the AI to attack when it bugs out and stops working
