Hi. I’m running a minion master mostly for PVE. I was just wondering if I should take Unholy Martyr since I can keep transfering conditions between me and my minions (because of Necromantic Corruption) hence generating a decent amount of life force. I was wondering if this interaction is worth it or should I go for Transfusion instead to heal my minions better? I have staff/scepter+dagger and dire armor stats mostly because of personal preference. I run BM/DM/SR.

Problem is, Unholy Martyr pulls the conditions off your minions too. you can theoretically get infinite life force in the right conditions because of this, but it’s a little counterintuitive to be trading them back and forth.

it could work if you got crit paired also with plague sending though. not sure if it is worth the investment and trouble for LF only

No. MM should be played with Cleric gear, and you don’t need the personal tankiness. Transfusion offers far more for the build.

I like every the cushion of 54 k total health potential in a bursting environment like this. You really think a transfusion to keep up with a bursting? It seems hard to believe.

Transfusion doesn’t heal you, so that’s an irrelevant point, Transfusion is for your minions to keep them alive through the increased damage threat in the game right now.

it’s the backbone of mm build

Clerics transfusion + life from death will heal your minons for around 9k.

I think you might be looking at different traits. The quote you just put is from the Vampiric Master tier Minor trait, whereas Transfusion is the bottom of the Grandmaster Major traits.

Vampiric does heal you with minion attacks, Transfusion however heals the minions for around 700 per tick (9 ticks) in Cleric gear, for a 6.3k heal for all your minions, which keeps them alive through enemy AoE damage.

Thanks! And the tooltip for that one does not mention minions. This is one of the shortcomings of GW2. It feels unfinished and unprofessionally done. I have been a software development manager and user interface specialist for major companies.

If you create complex software, provide good user documentation, don’t say “have fun figuring out even the basics through experimentation!”

It mentions allies, which includes minions, they can’t put everything in the tooltip because at some point you end up with every tooltip being 2 paragraphs, and that is unwieldy.

Problem is, minions do not attack 80% of the time, so they will never transfer conditions and just sit there and die.

Yes, unholy martyr+necromantic corruption is a fantastic life force battery. If you want a high ammount of survivability, or run death magic/blood magic/soul reaping (giving you a more powerful death shroud) then the extended time in death shroud would be worth it.

However, in AOE heavy dungeons you should consider transfusion instead to help your allies more.

It seems that a lot of people choose Tranfusion instead. What if I use Well of Blood as my healing skill; would Transfusion still be preferred or should I go for Vampiric Rituals?

I’ve personally found more success in running unholy martyr with necromantic corruption. Certainly in pvp and it works well in pve wandering around in the cursed shore. In my case, I’d switch to transfusion if you’re in a group where you can use staff indefinitely with death shroud to keep distance while someone else tanks. Semi-backline, if you will. But that’s just my thought (By no means am I an expert)

If well of blood is your only well, you’d still get more benefit out of transfusion. I’d only say vampiric rituals is worth it if you run a full wells build.

You shouldn’t use Well of Blood is the real answer.
