Q:
MM or Condition leveling Talents question
A:
I think I get what you mean. The adept level traits for Necromancer generally aren’t game changers.
For a minion master build, your first 10 points are in death magic for the actual minion master trait, full stop. Being able to re-summon minions frequently is too useful to pass up in my opinion. Blood magic for transfusion could be another good place for your next 10 points, since it gives you a heal for your minions. I don’t think minions scale with your power / weapon damage, so going defensive on trait stats doesn’t hurt as much on that front.
Utility wise I’d say bone minions are a staple due to their low recharge and fairly good damage when ‘splodin, and then either shadow fiend or bone fiend. (Shadow fiend hits pretty fast, but is somewhat more vulnerable because it’s melee.) Flesh wurm is really strong, but gets annoying to use when levelling since it can’t follow you from fight to fight like the others.
Trait wise, I’d guess that 10 in curses (Hemophilia or terror) is safe, alongside 10 in death magic again (this time for greater marks or staff mastery). Most people swear by greater marks, so try it early.
For conditions, epidemic is your AoE skill get it get it get it. Blood is power can also be a good choice, since Might boosts condition damage.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
For the conditionmancer, I’ll just link what I wrote recently in another thread:
I would go with MM for leveling, full minions (no Flesh Wurm, and if you want to give one up for Locust, give up Bone Fiend – it constantly dies anyway), and use staff for regen on minions. Priority one is to get 20 points in Death Magic for Flesh of the Master. Priority two is to get another 20 points in Blood Magic for Vampiric Master. After that, it’s up to you – the next 20 in Spite, or reallocate to get 30 points in Death Magic for full staff skills and 20 in Blood magic. Wear as much MF gear as you can get, and you will never die even in the worst of multipulls.
When leveling minions are generally not great as they die so fast before the extra trait. Once you get to lvl 40, they start to pickup steam. If you are determined to run MM, than your first ten points goes into MM reduction talents, followed by 10 to pickup life transfer heals, than put ten into reduced cd on Focus.
You should grab Bone Fiend, Bone Minions, and Blood Fiend as your first minions. You will eventually stop using eiterh Bone Minions or Shadow Fiend in dungeons and go with Flesh Wurm as your third, but there is no reason to get Flesh Wurm before dungeons.
The best weapon for your MM build is Axe/Focus with staff or Dagger/Warhorn as your 2nd weapons set. The only way to increase your MM damage outside of traits is Vulnerability stacking.
Once you get to 40, and redo your traits put your first 20 in death magic for 50 percent more life and reduced CD To Minons. Than 10 in Spite for Reduced focus or LB gives might your next 10 should pick up the 30 percent more damage to minions. Your final 20 points should be spent to pickup siphon on crit if running zerker gear or Life Transfer heals if running anything else. Then grab minions siphon health on hit (best trait ever).
Your final 10 points is free to spend, though if running dungeons everyone would probably recommend poison on death to minions in the death trait. When questing spend the 10 points where ever you want.
Thanks a ton, wish I could have given you all best answer haha, this was exactly what I was looking for. On the Mes it was get the first 5 in illusions then the next 10 in dueling and your set.
I’m gonna play around with both, clearly epidemic will make life easier as I was trying to run around and tab tag 4-5 mobs and it took forever.
maybe run condition till the 40 re-spec and then give MM a shot
For gear do I still want +Power? or should I be trying to Find +Condition
