This is pre-patch anyways, some aspects of this build no longer exist.
That skill clicking is pretty OP though.
WvW is the one game mode where Necromancers are actually pretty good. We could use more builds that are viable, but as it is now we’re useful there.
Unfortunately its about the only place we’re good at outside of hotjoins.
I acknowledge the fact that there are several encounters 1vX I probably would have won as a Condi build that I didn’t win as a Power build. It’s too bad I find Power intensely more fun and engaging, as I can’t stomp 3 of the classes before they get res’d back up anyway, and I can’t cleave the person ressing with the downed person like a condi stack can.
Oh well. Get busy havin’ fun, or get busy quittin’.

In general id say necros are fine in WvWvW, but this video is just putting 20 bunnies infront of a crocodile and expecting a real fight (half the people dont even use stun breaks).
P.S. Noone cares about WvWvW balance.
1) that build not longer exists, not to mention dhuumfire in wvw was left in its intact broken 4s base state
2) food
3) fights against wvw have lower credibility. I didnt make this up, but I can 100% confirm it from my experience.
4) again, look at point 3. the enemys arent terribad, but nowhere near good. id give them a average. given all that, its only 1v2 , hes using a teamspread utilty which is useles in 1v1, hes ofc a better player……….. and hes still barely winning…just finished watching, the enemys are bad
5) wvw necros have almost always 100% LF at start. totaly OP, the duel servers have 20% as standard and anything beyond 50% is a field advantage for necro
6) no1 cares about wvw small scale balance. conditanks (btw do we even know name of idiot who made up DIRE ? ) , GS + HealSig runaway wariors, PU mesmers and ofc Shadow arts thief are examples of what “open field combat” is like
7) now forget all the previous points if u want. ALL the complains are based around the gamemode they said they balance the game – PvP.
And who will play stuff if low/mid tier is ok, but you know you have no future in higher tier tourneys?
The necro is just too slow for coordinated team rotations, and is a teamfighter, who dies 1st in teamfights. Damage is actualy ok, but we should trade back the nerfed bleeds for the too strong nightmare runes.

I would take back the increased bleeds and terror in place of nightmare runes. I’d rather have more control than rely on a random fear tick, although when someone hits me at 1200 range and gets feared for a couple seconds I do get a good chuckle out of it.

Godkitten it I love Necromancer so frigging much, lol. I don’t need to be reminded how great the profession is but seeing videos like this makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

The focus #4 bounced between the target and him at point blank, and all the hits crit, so it did high damage hits in very quick succession. That thing will bounce 5 times, so it would have hit the target 3 times. A sigil of fire also procced, and it looks like the thief was full zerk, so he just esploded.

It was nice of you to explain, but I’m scratching my head why a guy would title a thread insinuating I lack ability as a Necro, then display complete ignorance as to how one of the weapon skills works.

Duh cogbyrn necros are so good at PvP all you have to do is button mash screw knowing what any of the skills do.

Pre-change Dhuumfire was borken in WvW(1v1s/roaming/small group) setting, with as much control and soft cc the Necromancer has, before there was no real skill to it except to passively make sure you crit every 10s. With food 40% condi duration increase on top of the 30% from spite trait line you had a really long burn duration iirc 7s burn. on a icd of 10s. Burns already do over 800+ damage a tick, and when you throw fear on top of that it’s another 1k damage, rounded up you do 2k damage a sec with those two alone; not including bleed, poison, and torment. Post change Dhuumfire is a lot more skillful, since it’s controlled and you know what to look for to help avoid the proc(LB 1)Spvp wise Necro’s are a lot more balanced. Though atm most people are playing engineers for conditions as far as I can see.

The main difference is in wvw you can easily assume going into any encounter with 100% lifeforce due to all the mobs around. In spvp you can assume the opposite unless your team is already winning. This difference in survivability and effectiveness is huge. There’s also several necro specific damage nerfs still in place in spvp due to dhuumfire that need to be undone now that it’s nerfed. Wvw also allows exploitation of some really overpowered kitten like perplexity runes for condi stacking burst and 40% condi duration food.
