This is a short entertainment style video inspired by its song.

I personally don’t think that power necros are “that” underpowered. Against good players, I win some and I lose some with most of the fights being fairly close. I concede that we do underperform when compared to certain other burst DPS classes but IMO it’s because they are overperforming not because we are horribly underperforming.

The difference between starting a fight with no life force and full life force is pretty dramatic. I think they need to normalize how much life force we start with when we are out of combat. I absolutely hate having to go kill a few animals in WvW to max my lifeforce out just so I stand a chance against some of the ridiculous burst that exists in the game at the moment. And, of course, there are many bugs to be fixed.

On the shroudstomps and shroudrevives. All you have to do is hit DS and your stomp keybind at the same time. It’s the same thing as doing a jump dodge roll. I have 3 seconds of stability when entering DS which covers most (but not quite all of the stomp). Being in DS while reviving is huge since it absorbs INC damage (and we know how much people love focusing revivers).

I was hesistant to put this in the movie, because I’m afraid that Arenanet will look at it and nerf it. I hope they don’t since many other classes can use mechanics that help secure stomps and revives as well. Please let us keep this, Arenanet. Please.

I really think Necros should be able to do stomp and revive while in DS especially considering we have no access to Stability otherwise and even then it requires 30 in SR.

You would still be able to use stability to stomp by selfcancelling DS. However, that costs you some uptime on the stability while stomping. And even though it would be a fraction of a second that could make all of the difference in the world.

As is, with the shroudstomp the stability wears off shortly after the top of the stomp animation as you are coming down.

They would probably be more concerned with being in DS while reviving someone. You can take a good bit of punishment while reviving if you are full lifeforce. Of course, they should be able to knock you off of a revive since you only have the first 3 seconds of stability protection.

They should just change deathshroud so you can stomp/revive with it on lmao

Considering Ele’s can stomp while in mist form, I agree.

I’ve been wanting to try something like this for a while, what stats do you itemize for besides power? Do your run Crit/Crit damage or anything along those lines?

Since it’s WvW, I can customize my stats a bit. I’m using a mixture of power/precision/toughness and power/vitality/crit gear.

Ok, I asked about the shroud stomping but I see that you did address it. Good video. I tried a build like this myself but it wasn’t working as well for me. Might have been because of main hand dagger instead of Axe? I was playing around with some other traits too.

I’ll probably end up putting 30 in Blood Magic or Spite though.

Not sure why you run Plague over Lich Form when you are using a power build, Lich Form hits like a truck in power builds

This is WvW. Unfortunately, turning into a giant lich will get you focused and killed. Plague is much better for WvW since you can use it to tank focus.

My role in WvW is breaking lines with death shroud and plague form.

I was thinking about 20/20/0/0/30 to have wells being ground targeted for WvW. Bad thing is that this makes an axe as mainhand pretty useless. Was thinking about using a dagger instead. What do you think?

30/10/0/0/30, yes. I took trait to give 20% extra damage when target is under 50% health since I cycle through axe, staff, and DS.

IMO, it’s too easy to kite dagger.

I am trying similar build like you. However i cant decide what runes to socket. May you tell me what runes you are running OOzo? I am running gems (power/prec/tough) right now, but i am not sure if it is good choice…

I’m using mostly emerald orbs at the moment (power/prec/tough). However, I sometimes question the value of toughness when encountering full glass cannon burst builds.

Wait this video is not good.

First we see pathetic mark damage then we see how horrible necros are when they fight each other forever.

Then the video shows 2 bad fights agaisnt thieves. The second is actually funny showing how you need an elite to beat a thief, but really on equal footing, the thief would have used thieves guild and stomped that necro.

Then we see a couple of life transfer and I love how he slows down the ones with Fury then 25 stacks of might given by his allies without slowing down the other weak transfers for 3-4k he did earlier without boons like the 4k one against a light armored Ele.

The only good thing in this video does is confirming what we know already. The problem is that we received ok survival with DS, but to compensate we were given less damage.

Also, even if you manage to do something decent with the axe or the dagger you still run with a major AoE problem which you can’t compensate with a staff that hits like a wet noodle then becomes useless once our CDs are up.

Heh. WTF is it with people. I said the movie was an entertainment style movie, hence parts are slowed down or sped up to synch with changes and/or lyrics in the song.

The might was from the Siphoned Power trait while getting hit by 5+ players. Putrid mark can crit for 3-4K at times. That is not horrible.

You seem to be threatened by this movie because you clearly want necros to be buffed. I really don’t think there is anything here that says they shouldn’t be.

The power builds underperform when compared to other DPS power builds, however I don’t think necros are nearly as bad off as some would make them out to be.

DS survivability alone is a very nice mechanic. However, thief survivability through stealth and mobility is better.

I thought it was a nice little video if that matters.

I haven’t experienced this myself. I haven’t been able to PVP much the last week though, so there is always the possibility things have been tweaked.
