I dont like how Flesh Wurms Necrotic Traversal, is something between a blink and a teleport. Sometimes it will allow you to penetrate walls, othertimes it will just teleport you into a wall or a short distance somewhere.

There shouldn’t be a maximum range:

If the enemy wants to eliminate your ability to teleport back if your off playing somewhere, they can just kill your fleshwurm.

This will give the ability to be just as useful as mesmers for the treb, or if you are removing the ability for mesmers to carry things through portals. Simply apply that too Necrotic Traversal.

Necrotic Traversal can only apply to a single player, and cannot teleport a whole team like the mesmer portal.

Until this is somehow fixed I have to utilize spectral walk and necrotic traversal for mobility, when necrotic traversal should be allowing me to freely roam with an anchor in the first place.

yup we all want to skip 90% of every jumping puzzle and luls our way through…… rofl
also climb up mountains and dump all over the vista area

ofc it has 1 awesome use atm
the wurms teleport can be used to skip through the fire boulder part in CoF path 1 Thumbs up

I wish people wouldn’t say that, there is NO REASON EVER to nerf PvE functionality because of PvP, at least in Gw2 anyway, in WoW it had the reason of world PvP meaning that PvE and PvP was the same, but in GW2, the PvP is in WvW (which is designed so that it’s strategy, not class which wins, and has been stated to never be balanced around) and sPvP.

the PvP and PvE content never mix, so what’s to stop ANet from giving people two sets of spells, one only accessible in PvE, and one only accessible in PvP.

as necros, we should understand this better than anyone, we’re not getting buffed in PvE because our DS is too OP in PvP, if the skills were split into PvP and PvE versions, the devs could balance each side without affecting the other, more powerful DS in PvE, same DS in PvP

There he just mentioned the resolution, make fleshwurm cast at your feet like a well. Then use it to teleport back. Then it fixes my issue and doesn’t ‘break’ jumping puzzles.

necrotic traversal only allows you to go back to a place you have already been, NOT skip jumping puzzles.

Flesh Wurm is a ground targeted ability. If you’re clicking your skills, move your cursor around the screen.

If your flesh wurm is within 1200 range
—-—— if a walking path from you to the wurm is possible
—-——————— teleport you to the wurm
—-——- else
—-—————— draw a direct line to the wurm and teleport you as far
—-——————- as possible in that direction
else
—-—- draw a direct line from you to the wurm and teleport you
—-—-1200 range in that direction

I would LOVE if they made it a direct teleport like Mesmer portals, but I’m not sure how easy that would be mechanically.

It would be very easy, it did this in betas. (EDIT: Oh wait no, I’m thinking of spectral walk. Same basic premise though.) They changed it for jump puzzle/ exploitability reasons.

oh my mistake. In any case, many other classes have abilities that do the same thing (engineer leap comes to mind) so I don’t see why it’s an issue for necros to have it as well.

Jumping puzzles are hard… Wait what?
I haven’t seen a single jumping puzzle that left any kind of impression on me past just knowing where it is. And the occasional there are npcs there that try to kill you… you the welfare class with crap dps.
If you need help with jumping puzzles… quit turning with bloody arrow keys. Honestly should simply remove bindings for turning and leave only strafing. Would fix all the “too hard” whining.

AFAIK (and tested) you CANT skip jumping puzzles. I tried it in the WvW jumping puzzle platforms. Seems like you can’t teleport over a gap that you must physically jump over.
