Where is the trade off..?

I mean if necro was meant to look like the necro from guildwars i would expect some reasonable tradeoff..

So i am wondering.. where is the tradeoff? :

And no, consume conditions isn’t a tradeoff.. neither is might..
And considering the cleanse epidemic hasn’t a tradeoff either/at all..

1. Yes, CC is tradeoff – you’ll get way more heal
2. Necro have lot ways to transfer conditions.

BiP + offhand dagger transfer and/or putrid mark is great if you are running conditions.

That’s why you see so many Necros running Staff and */dagger with those utilities.

Those and Consume Conditions are also a decent synergy that should not be ignored.

You can easily spend the first portion of the fight sending conditions enemies put on you right back on them then once your transfers are down you can eat the rest to top off your health. Rinse, repeat.

Edit: The great part is you don’t have to be running condition to make use of those; you could just be running an odd dagger/dagger + staff power build and you’ll still screw up the enemy strategy if they are relying on conditions to kill you.

Short answer: there is no real trade off. They got rid of all sense of Necromancers being able to sacrifice things for stronger effects.

I hope that its something they add in the future. They are adding more skills, and I really want to see the return of conditional and sacrifice skills.

When they abolished energy, they abolished tradeoffs.

Because the main tradeoff in GW1 was a lower energy cost for a health cost.

I suppose self inflicting skills were meant to be used with condition transfer skills. Dagger #4, plague signet, putrid mark or just consume conditions so make sure you can transfer or cleanse if you bring one of those skills with you. Only largely useful is BiP imho. Poison field is a bit situtational.. BiP is especially reasonable if you play zerker build with offhand dagger.

This wasn’t the only thing it was for. Self sacrifice was the trade-off for a few things: reduced energy cost, increased effect, lowered CD.

Well two of those would translate to increased energy cost without the sacrifice anyways.
