Nothing more embarrassing than losing an outnumbered to a single necro. Nice job, but it doesn’t change my opinion on Necro needing improvements.
What server was that? JQ?

Well, he’s basically playing Procmancer with Mercenary Stats. That’s pretty cheesy…
I tried the same build with Demolisher Stats (= power build) a few months ago… unfortunatyly it did just work against bad opponents (but these got totally wrecked).

Necro can absolutely use some tuning in certain spots, but this is a testament to the fact that Necro can be done just fine in appropriate cases. Also yes, I am currently on JQ after being payed to move here by a couple guilds; T1 is still the worst time in WvW by miles, but T2 isn’t that bad.

I’m a huge theorycrafter, and I’ve been playing what people are only just recently playing and referring to as “Procmancer” for months now. Also yes, I will absolutely put on the hipster glasses for this one because I take pride in my ability to make/find builds before just about anyone else that plays this class. I started using it primarily on Power builds as a way of making up some of the Condi management that you lose from not running Staff, and also to help out-trade opponents with the respectable Weakness uptime and Impairing Condition spam, and found it to be quite successful. I actually found it to be very in-tune with base Necromancer and quite a respectable build to play if you ever feel like going and playing base Power Necro again (you can find that video on my channel as well). Spiteful Spirit has easily been one of my favorite traits in the past 8 months, definitely my favorite GM in Spite.
You can say it’s cheesy, but isn’t almost everything in WvW? If I go roaming with it and it isn’t powerful in some meaningful way, then I die to everything that is. That’s just the nature of the game.

I don’t say you copied Procmancer (how should I know?!). I also did not copy it.
I ran Spite/Curses/Soul Reaping Signet Power Necro before HoT Release so a logical step was to try Spite/Curses/Reaper. But it only works on condition builds as it is much easier to keep up pressure. Running power stats you need shroud for sustain. Until tody I found not a single non-Soul Reaping power build that’s viable when you are on your own – not one!.
I really like running Spite+Curses. All these procs… everything is cool, the visual effects, the condi overload, the proc sounds. But not on power. Either Spite for raw damage or Curses for debuff and corrupt. SR and Reaper are mandatory.
If the next specialisation will give significant sustain that’s not just building Life Force like Reaper, then a solo play power necro can maybe swap Soul Reaping for sth. else.

Don’t worry, vocal tone is obviously difficult to show on a forum, but I wasn’t being confrontational in the slightest, simply showing you the toner I have through my jeans when it comes to theorycrafting and making builds. I don’t entirely agree about Soul Reaping or Reaper being mandatory, however, but that’s ok. Here’s hoping the next elite specs are pretty sweet~~
