Minion AI is extremely bad
You forgot one or two. How about when you attack a mob and look over and you FG decide to go fight with another player leaving you alone and soon to be dead or you just got done a huge mob and needed some time to recharge but your FG who is close to death decide on his one to run over to pick a fight with a veterans .
I’ve replied to so many of these threads I am worn out. Yes it is bad, yes it is bugged, yes it nearly destroys a game style many (including me) love to play, yes it renders many of our traits nearly useless.
Bottom line is that many have said the same thing, so it is nearly impossible for A.Net not to have noticed. Therefore logically one of the below must apply:
1) A.Net is working on it, but it isn’t a simple solution so it is taking a while
2) A.Net doesn’t think it is a problem
3) A.Net doesn’t know how to fix it and therefore have tabled it until a far future date
4) A.Net doesn’t care
Im voting for number 1, but since ranger pet ai, theif guild ai and memser clone ai is working better im not sure what the issue could be. unless they dont want the minions to be as “good” as the ranger pets since that’s their mechanic. but the minion AI should be relativly on par with mesmers and theifs (which I think are reported in being better than ranger pets at the moment)
I honestly dont know, it was addressed in beta. I beleive i have a screen shot somewhere with them saying it would be fixed by launch. Theres no way they actually intend on keeping it this way, the point is they intend to do it…but i’m assuming it is either..

They claim to have a huge staff like in that recent blog. I would imagine its a high priority “shrug”.
A.Net is fixing necromancers every patch. One bugfix/patch, so I would say that in year or two we might see some improvement on minion AI.
