Minionmancer help
Axe/focus might be good choice for mm, making target vulnerable helps minions to deal damage, with staff for burst damage traps or to heal/transfer conditions to enemy and in www its 1200 range is great. .
personally though i love the scepter/dagger setup. so much bleeding.. in www it is specially nice as at the time people start to consider retreating the bleed has been stacked and they dont get away.
personally i would say dagger is awful. autoattack is melee and third attack very slow leaving only the life siphon to be nice.
I’m only 48 Necro, but I use a blood minions setup and I feel nearly invincible in PvE. (haven’t really touched WvW or PvP yet though). You’re not the first person I’ve seen to disparage minions, but I don’t see it… and I don’t even have the 50% HP bonus yet. Unless I’m really in over my head, my minions survive long enough that I can usually keep them up if they tank, and I actually prefer it when I’m tanking because I regen so fast I barely take damage… and the Death Shroud is ample to deal with it. Is there such a big difference in PvP/WvW?
For weapons, I use Staff with extended Marks. Then I’d switch to Axe/Dagger when my recasts are down if I need to (though right now I’m using a rare staff with way better damage than I have on an axe).

Works pretty well, would obviously work better if minions wernt so dumb and buggy, But even with the bugs etc it works really well i rarely have any trouble killing anything.
I tried 30 points in death magic over the 30 in blood but i found that the death nova trait for the minions really isnt that great compared to being almost immune to conditions. Also ive used this build in story mode dungeons and did fine, not sure its viable for explore mode tho havnt bothered trying that yet as i decided to start leveling my gaurdian until the necros minions are fixed a little
