Playing around with some MM in sPvP.

That’s been 5 players totally killed with my Flesh Golem & Shadow Fiend just standing around not doing anything at all. Bone Fiend was attacking and working tho.

I’ll save you some time, drop Shadow Fiend, he’s pretty much useless right now, you are better off taking Bone Minions. Other than that, the AI “fixing” that they did really tightened up their initial response to aggro (they always work to start for me) but doesn’t seem to have always fixed the random in-fight loss of aggro that Fleshy has had since they took away his desire to murder everything that lives.

I think some people have suggested trying to swap aggro to something else then swapping it back, you could try that to see if it works. Obviously AI still needs work though if people are still having problems.

Oh Fleshy still likes to murder stuff—so long as it’s inanimate. Boxes, weapon racks, barrels, totem poles. You name it, he’ll kill it.

And then he’ll go pick flowers.

He’s not like his old psychopathic self though. I remember where you didn’t need to even attack something to aggro it, as long as there was a living creature within eyesight you could be sure he was either currently murdering it, or about to murder it.

Ahh old Fleshy… Almost miss the way he’d watch you slowly get down to 1/3rd life, then run off around the corner, up the hill, out of sight, then bring back a few more mobs & a champ if he could just to make sure you die…

It’s weird tho, since the ‘balance patch’ I’d actually had a few hours of minions working.
HotW, a farming lap of Orr… Been able to use them in PvP and ‘jump’ (not just walk on ONLY flat ground).

The melee minions just keep running around even when you’re in combat unless you stand still for afew seconds until they engage, then you can keep running around until they get bugged again and that’s when you have to stand still again and so on.
Pretty stupid I know.

everything would be better with a basic PET UI. (Attack/Follow/stand — Passive/Defensive/Aggresive) Ofc if They obey accourately the commands.
With an UI even with the Stupid AI MM Necros could be playble on Dungeons and other pve/pvp activities (WvW guh guh) that now are useless and we need to respec.

I haven’t had much issue (I am solely PvE so my opinion/experiences are far from tested). I usually keep shadowfiend out and use his ability or really any minion ability. If you target the enemy and use an ability they will all attack. Just my experiences though and it still isn’t perfect but it works about 98% of the time, which is good enough for me.

Its funny, I always thought rangers having pet UI was silly and Necros not having any to be weird.

Ranger Pets – Sentient beasts they tame to work with them. Creatures you would expect grow and learn with the trainer to eventually work with them. They form a symbiotic bond.

Necromancer Minions – Mindless creatures who were brought into the world to serve. They listen to their master and respond to their will without thinking.
This is how I always visualized it. Seems so awkward that they are backwards. Nothing against it, I mean you could twist those words to be what you will, but it is just how I see it. Minions are controlled and sentient beasts make their own decisions.

To be honest if Necro ever received UI for them, I think it would be neat for Rangers to have their pet AI adjusted. SImilar to Mags in PSO, where the beast uses skills on its own when the Ranger does. The pet could even work specifically to combo with the ranger.

Just my opinions and dreams.
