Mm opinions
My necro runs zerker stats, full minion build with blood fiend (though heal is irrevelant), bone minions, bone fiend and Rise! with Lich Form as elite… I run greatsword and dagger/dagger and have blood magic (all bottom) , death magic (all top) and reaper equipped (top-top-bottom if Im not mistaken). If you have someone attacking you, your minions are enough, have a group, cast Rise. Have a boss with thousands of hp? Lich Form, cast that minion mark under him and autoattack.
I’d guess a set with condi damage could work too as they nab condis off you and transfer them to the foes (which scales with your condi strength/length)
I run this build in pve and pvp (rarely that I do pvp) and never ran it in wvw/eotm so I can’t really say about eotm – the minions die a lot faster in pvp/wvw than in pve though
AI has still some issues but on the overall much much better than what it was :P
In PvE go full damage, death magic/reaper/spite or soul reaping, basically just slot all the mobile minions and pick up lots of damage and go to town.
I like MM, but tbh I wouldn’t advise anyone to go full MM. The pets just aren’t that useful to waste utility skills on.
Personally I would go Curses, Death and Reaper for open world content. Corrosive Cloud, Signet of Locust, Rise. Blood Fiend and Flesh Golem.
Staff for pretty much everything and swap to scepter/dagger to kill single targets.
With Rise, Death Nova, Blood Fiend and Flesh Golem we have nine or ten minions around us which satisfies the MM craving.
For dungeons/fractals swap Death to Blood, get Quickening Thirst, Vampiric Aura and Transfusion. Replace Signet of Locust for Blood is Power. Staff for AoE/trash, scepter for boss.
For gear go with Viper. It’s the best but kinda expensive so trade it for Rabid if you don’t want the hassle. Otherwise use http://gw2crafts.net/ and put Tailoring to 400.
