Moa destroys all minions
Moa is OP and should be removed or should be removable by well of power. It’s so stupid how it’s basically an “I win” button and they get to beat on you while you’re morphed. Bullkitten, I wish we had an elite half that effective instead of a broken pet, a “train me now” and becoming a moving well of darkness.
I am pretty sure it is working as indended because when you transform you lose your equipped utility skills and when you unequip minion skills the minions die, that is the same reason why you loose your minions when you use Lich Form, Plague or a tonic.
I can’t say that it is a mechanic I like though.
Well it completly obliterad a Minion Master Necromancer.
Does it also destroy engineer turret? I don’t think so.
MM Necro = Already kittened by bad AI minion.
MM Necro with MOA bird = You lose any attack like everyone for 10 sec, but you also lose all your minion. So even after the 10 sec, you still lose like 50% of your dps, and they are on cooldown. The shorstest cooldown with traits is 16 sec, so it still 6 sec without minion. It also dispel our ELITE summon.
But If it’s the same solution as Lich form (If we use lich or plague, we lose our minion), the DEV said on necro forum that it was not done on purpose. It was actually a bug that they were trying to bypass.
Might be the same thing for the MOA bird, they are prolly working on it, so MOA bird doesnt dispel the summon.

It also kills every Necro elite and can empty your LF bar.

Added “This skill is cancelled and put on cooldown by Moa Morph” to Summon Bone Minions, Summon Shadow Fiend, Summon Flash Wurm, Summon Bone Fiend, Summon Blood Fiend, Summon Flash Golem, Lich Form and Plague descriptions.

Funny thing (not really) that I found yesterday: Skritt Burglar also destroys all minions. I found a random chest out in the open, opened it of course, an there was the new Skritt Burglar. I started giving chase with my Minion “army” in tow, and he morphed me into some little walking kitten Poof. All my minions gone. Now I defend MM on most of these posts, but that was too much. Decided to blow off the dust on my Chardian until something gets fixed.

Seriously though, ANet CLEARLY doesn’t care about Minions and barely cares about Necros. I would just reroll or learn to love Conditions since its our ONLY build worth anything.
I dont even want to call them minions anymore, I have been playing GW1 for the HoM points lately and with proper minions, elite skills that dont feel like ultimates in AoS-games and instead are something you build around(Even the short CD elites in GW1 feel more powerful than any Elite in GW2)
Necromancer with minions is supposed to be handling an army, not housepets. It would be much better if the minions did degenerate and were bound to a weapon with utility skills to heal/boost/etc. them and the max amount of minions at same time would be like X+lvl/Y.
Gw1 minion masters builds are fun. You have a army of undead that can attack actully be a reason to fear necros. You had more types of them and you have more then just one of each type. Sometimes you need all the range, sometimes you needed hte melee, or sometimes you just needed to keep pumping out minions to keep up with trash. So many builds around minions that worked so well.
Gw2 minions are a joke.

But MOA COMPLETELY RUINS any chance of MM in SPVP
been moad back to back 5 times in 1 tournament game.. 2 times in less then 30 seconds. mesmers know the flaw all too well they know if they just moa you that you pose no threat at all for the comming moments and you are basicly a kittened shrimp..
needless to say i specced out of mm after thatt experience and never looked back.. it can work but not with water destroying your pets moa destroying your pets warriors bladetrail destroying your pets utility skills destroyed by pets lich form destroys pets plague form destroys pets pets that destroy themself pets that get destroyed by lightningstrike and flameblast aoe exploits
when i played mm i sometiems saw strange damage that obviously didnt belong to me.. then i looked over my shoulder and i saw it was the pet..
a pet.. it was alive.. needless to say 5 sec later i was moad and it was destroyed.
It seems to me the solution is for everyone to make a mesmer and hunt down every remaining minion specced necromancer in sPvP until the server screens start flashing red.
That’s how the karma exploit worked, right? We just need the numbers!
It really bothers me that Anet designed it this way. It essentially permanently locked out minion masters from tPvP as long as the mesmer exists. In my opinion it is a bad design and it shouldn’t work this way at all.
If i am going to put all of my traits into minions, I shouldn’t be punished and lose EVERYTHING to a single ability.

If that’s the case then the bug is that getting transformed should disable your utility skills and not unequip them. This would be the “standard” UI convention after all: you grey out a button when the functionality is unavailable you don’t remove/blank/disconnect it as that just leads to other problems.
Either way I don’t think this is desired functionality, I think it’s another side effect of the bug fix mentioned by Jonathan Sharp here:
2) I agree that minions being killed when you go into an elite form is not good. We’re going to find ways to fix it. It feels bad to lose your minions (utility skills) just because you use your elite. We did that change to fix skills being unslotted by going above/below water (which WAS a bug), but we’ll need to find a different way to fix it so that minions, if you just use your elite above water, remain.

For MM to have a chance. We need ways to make them actully better. Attack more often, much better health regan. Ways to keep summoning back to back. Not just a AI fix. I want my GW1 MM back.
