I just traited Greater Marks for the first time, and for some reason only Chillblain (staff 3) seems to increase in size. I even tried relogging, but it doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Untraited, the tooltips for all staff marks state a radius of 120. Traited, they remain 120, only chillblain increases to 240. Is this normal? I’ve swapped to 20% reduced staff cooldown for now.
This has been mentioned a lot before, but the trait actually works perfectly. While the tooltip and targetting reticule remain unchanged for all but Chillblains (we have no idea why), all of your marks are properly affected by the trait. They are all at a 240 radius and they cannot be blocked.
Ok I see, thanks for the reply. Sorry but I’ve only following the necro forum for the past few days. You’d think they’d have gotten around to fixing this by now, in any case.
This might come off as a rant. But its been almost 6 months since the release of the game. And this “simple” bug still hasn’t gotten fixed. Now to be fair I don’t know how complicated the programming is. But this AoE indicator bug just seems like something they could have fixed in less than 6 hours of coding. It just “indicates” how much attention the necro community gets: Less than 6 hours in the past 6 months.
Tell me I am wrong.

Even the circle on the ground is normal size. But its like that for eles to. Not just necros. Im fairly sure.

Lots of simple bugs never get fixed, for example engineer’s rifled barrels is only supposed to increase the range on skills, yet it actually decreases the bleed and increases the weakness on the autoattack for elixir gun (as well as changes some other skill I can’t remember offhand). It’s been like that since beta, it seems like a trivial fix that would take 5 minutes, and I’m sure Anet knows about it but… nope.
It’s not just necromancer, it’s the fact that anet only has 2 developers total working on class balance/skills and apparently they both play warriors.
Staff 3 (already has 240 radius) is the only one that I would say is bugged, greater marks should increase that one as well, but it just makes them all 240 radius. If greater marks doubles the radius of the others, it should double the radius of ALL of them.

Staff 3 has a radius of 120 untraited like all the other marks, it just happens to be the only mark that properly displays the 240 radius when traited, for some reason.
