Anyone else notice a recent influx of Necros hanging around in the Mists and sPvP? I can’t tell if people are suddenly learning that they are more powerful than most say, but typically it was rare that I saw another necro in PvP and now I see them a lot more often.

They also seem to be scoring pretty well too. Yesterday, while playing maybe 10 separate games, if there was 1 – 2 necros on either team they tended to be in 1st or 2nd by quite a large margin.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think something is happening here…

A well played Necro is very powerful in PvP. Especially with all the Guardians running around. I think a lot of people are finally just realizing it or they just got better at playing the Necro (Because it does take a little more thought to play than a Thief or something). Anyway I played Necro in the BWE’s and loved it but I knew it need some work so I rolled a Thief when the game launched. Now that Anet has buffed the class a little and are fixing the bugs I ditched my Thief and made tmy Necro and it’s just so much more satisfying to play.

You can reach high scores in 8vs8 sPvP pretty easily as a necro. Just spec towards maximum survivability and run with the main zerg. You will tag all enemies with your aoe no matter how little damage you do and die as the last one in your group. 8vs8 is more about surviving the myriads of face-roll instagib thiefs and annoying 100b warriors than actual competitive PvP.
