All right, I’m going to give this a shot to anyone that actually reads these threads.

Since I started this game, through better or (much) worse, Necro was my main. Loved playing Necro in gw1 and love playing condi necro in gw2. I mostly run around in pve or dungeon/fractal runs. That being said I got very excited when I learned that part of the reaper was going to focus on using chill as a damaging condition.

I tried the reaper out in the beta, was disappointed, and thought over the weekend on what improvements I could throw out there.

Greatsword obviously has some problems, which a lot of people have addressed. I’m going to focus on the chill aspects.

Obviously the autoattack needs a boost. Even as a condimancer I found it more worthwhile to just spam #2+3. The chill on 3rd hit either needs to be longer or the best suggestion I read was to create a small chill field. This would combo great with gravedigger

Nightfall feels like it should chill instead of cripple. It would make more sense thematically and functionally.

Again stated before is the targeting on grasping Darkness and the overall damage boost the gs needs.

Shouts

They are terrible. The effects are much weaker than the Temepst’s and the with their activation times they aren’t even actually shouts. Just spells with a vocal incantation. Honestly, I think they should just be scrapped, but I don’t have any good replacement suggestions.

Reaper Shroud

Awesome. Honestly, I kind of wished you would just replace death shroud with this without needing the elite spec. I only ever used death shroud as an alternate health pool/aoe heal (with traits). The reaper shroud had me actually contemplating using Soul Reaping

Traits

Adept Trait: I feel like this one is too weak with the amount of chill the reaper can actually do and should probably be replaced with a chill enabler instead. My suggestions

Impending Winter: Basically the same as Chronomancer’s Lost Time trait, but with chill.

Ice in Your Veins: Something along the lines of whenever you apply a non-movement impairing condition to your foe you have a chance to chill them.

Poaching Warmth: Just straight up chance to inflict chill on crit. Thought that in addition maybe give swiftness on trigger

Master Trait: Honestly, I thought this one was decent, but Decimate Defenses is a lot better, even just from using the gs’s attack set.

Grandmaster Trait: Obviously this is the one I started building around, so I don’t want to change it, but it could use a damage buff.

And last not actually a reaper trait, but as a qol change Chilling Darkness could have its cooldown reduced.

Overall I enjoyed this class and I really do hope to see some boosts on it so I can have fun running around with the greatsword. Thanks to anyone who reads this!

about traits you forgot 1 thing: the Adept minor trait. Greatsword, shouts and Reaper Shroud should be accessible when you choose the specialization and not when you get the minor trait. this trait has to be removed and put something else in it’s place. i’d suggest a flat increase speed(without needing to equip X weapon) like Chronomancer’s Grandmaster minor trait including the secondary effects. and since Relentless Pursuit Adept trait has same secondary effect simply remove it and put something else

Reaper Shroud needs work. autoattack dmg is weak, skill 2 needs to add collision on target and increase speed and distance, and skill 5 cast time is too much. it has to be decreased
