I’ve been playing a bit of Necromancer in WvW and unless I play a very conservative ranged spec I consistently get cc locked out of using all of my abilities. When running dagger/focus I can do decent damage if there isn’t anyone around to cancel all of my abilities.

I think one of the problems Necromancers seem to be facing is the channel time on nearly every skill the Necromancer has. Don’t get me wrong a lot of things make sense to be channels but when you have two weapon sets and only dagger 1 between the two sets isn’t a channel (including utilities most of the time) something may be wrong. I’ve seen people talking about the lack of stability but I think the issue isn’t the lack of stability perse, it’s just that everything cancels all of our abilities.

Please prove me wrong, I haven’t been playing Necro for too long and I really love the class but this oversight feels like one of the major issues especially with the closer ranged weapons.

Which weapon sets are you running that only have dagger 1 as a non-channel?

That isn’t even possible. Dagger 3 is not channeled.

Dagger 3 the immobilize? Yeah it does, go test it. The little bar under it while using the ability means that it’s a channel and interruptable. It’s casting time is just faster than other channels.

That’s a cast bar, not a channeled ability…

Well fine, nearly all of the Necromancer’s abilities have casting times that are interruptable. Terminology aside it does seem to be a detriment to the class.

It’s not just terminology. The interrupt mechanic is much more detrimental to channeled abilities than casted abilities.

Sure, I’ll agree that longer channeled abilities lose all of their value when they are interrupted. But you still lose out on all of the damage and effects your casted abilities would do when they are interrupted as well. You might lose out on the larger effects of your channels but you still miss out on the lower abilities too.

My only point is that the Necro has an unusually high number of interruptable abilities compared to some of the other classes.

once be interrupted when you use life transfer in 0.5 second before you deal damage. it goes 40 seconds full recharge. and you become a sandbag. only doom is instant but single target with 1 second shortest duration(plus 0.5 second with trait.). it should not go full recharge unless i channel 50% or 30%.
