Well isnt gonna help you bunkering up a point, they’ll just dodge out and range you to death. The protection period is very short.
The cleric amulet is worthless. Just look at how the stat change. Cleric, 1014 healing from DI woop woop… And you got 21.4K HP. With Sentinel, you have 715 healing and 30.7K HP. Yeah… I think you can do the math yourself there.
I think you got wrong focus on your build. Healing isnt enough to bunker up unless you can have 5000 healing power or something. And you cant. What you want is avoidance (energy sigils ftw) and something that keep your foes busy, cc or damage. Not much if you bunker, but just enough. The only necro bunker I’ve met that did anything of worth was a minion master bunker and man was he annoying to try to take down with all the critters running around, even as a power necro lol.
Any kind of condition build is also going to slaughter you.
But hey what do I know, go ahead and try it anyway. Its PvP, its free.

The tankiest necro will just die on a point in seconds to a sensible use of cc and damage. The more they have buffed damage like air sigils, the worse a class which relies on health becomes and the more tanky classes with evades and blocks become.
Maybe i would try it if we got a wells remove condis trait. Would be an awesome GM trait that offered team support and tankiness.
Wont happen though because creativity seems to be dead at anet.

Yeah I see the downs, by no way I expected similar bunker style as guard I am familiar with MM bunker but I don’t trust AI all the time. I tried the second one and did manage to get success depending on team comp of course. About stat share it’s a virtual troublesome due to a good cele can provide the support and more damage,condition builds are not that much of a threat, dagger OH,well of power and decent LF pool helps but CC is a pain.
Overall well played you can sustain your self and allies decently plus extra. If you could still cast Life Transfer even after dodging it would help as well as traited heals working in DS.
Edit: I can definitely include energy sigils in the first one, I use wells based on situations I don’t lay them all to proc siphon but rather for safe stomp/counter the AoE condi spam on point. It all depends on positioning.

Generally speaking Necro bunker (besides MM to a degree) doesn’t work. It isn’t an issue with dying, the right build (spectral) has massive protection uptime, which while in DS reduces the damage you take to 33%, which is a massive amount of reduction and its up a lot. You can also pick up a good bit of healing with the right sigil/rune setup and casting dagger 2 a lot.
The problem tends to be that you can’t be tanky and deal enough consistent damage at the same time. Also non-MM bunkers are forced into really weird options if they want to have consistent weakness/poison uptime, which is really important for us.
Basically, you’d need to re-create everything that MM does well on another build, but using different skills/traits to accomplish it, and that just ends up not happening. MM brings so much defensive conditions, sustained and light burst damage, tankiness and sustain, and CC, and it can do so in a way that other builds can’t replicate.
First of all I play bunker Necro, its my main char. Its not ideal (as other classes build bunkers that are easier to play) but its fun and that is why I play it. If you want to play Necro Bunker here is some advice for a build.
You need Stability. You are a bunker. If you are off point you are not bunkering. That is called a tank. Necro’s have the most stability of any class if you build for it.
Healing is always better for the long battle than starting with a lot of HP. Since Necro has more HP than all other classes (other than war). You can get away with not wasting a stat on VIT.
You need condi removal. Most builds rely on conditions in some respect. If you can’t remove conditions you are dead in the water.

Advantages:
- Good Condi Removal – Consume, Well of power, Putrid mark, deathly swarm
- Perma Regen for you and team mates with mark of evasion and mark of blood
-Tanky as hell (Settlers amulet and 6 in Death Magic). You will be able to 2v1 and 3v1 for a decent amount of time.
- Really fast LF generation – Soul marks, Ghastly Claws, Spectral Armor.
- A ton of Stability (4.5 seconds every time you go to DS)
- Stability stomp potentially ready every 10 seconds.
- Stability res potentially ready every 10 seconds.
- Stability heal potentially ready every 10 seconds (pop DS leave and heal). Not fool proof but not auto stun either.
- 2 blind stomps if DS is on cool down – Deathly Swarm, Well Of blood
- Good support conditions – Weakness, Chills, Cripple, Blinds, Poison, Fears (use fear to push people back off your team mates/your self or to keep people off point)
- Situational Boon strip (try to strip might with unholy feast)
- No need to be in melee range at all with Ranged LF regen – Staff Marks, Staff Auto, Ghastly Claws.
- OK ally healing with Runes and Sigils
- Decent protection up time with wells and spectral armor and trait. (DO NOT USE SPECTRAL ARMOR UNTIL AFTER TRAIT KICKS IN AND ENDS.. unless you really need a stun break.)
- Plague Form.. really good time waster… and in my opinion best bunker skill in game.
- Unholy sanctuary is AWESOME. Not only does it heal you while in DS. You can be almost dead. Go into DS, heal a little, leave DS, pop spectral armor and “DIE” but you will be put back into DS with more DS. This is a great tactic and a decent amount of time you will get your heal off afterwards. (save your DS FEAR to heal out of DS)
Disadvantages:
- No mobility or escapes..
- All your damage comes from your condi transfers… which makes fighting condi classes easier. But since I am effectively using a power weapon with a condi amulet you are not speced to do your own damage at all.
- No Ally Stability
- No ally quick res unless you use signet (trade well of darkness for Signet if you want). DS -> Signet of Undeath (stability to prevent stun first). Although I find well of darkness better over all.
- Only 1 heal. If you screw up casting this you are screwed.. always go for safe Heal. Blind, Stability or Fear before you start to heal
- Mesmers… BOONs you don’t have many of them soo they will strip your good ones with shatter. You will need a lot of practice vs them.
I am sure I am missing some disadvantages and advantages of my build….. but that is all I can think of at this moment.
