Necro Race?
Only two races really stand out, and for similar reasons: Norn and Charr.
Norn because they get Become the Snow Leopard, which makes escaping during WvW roaming really easy.
Charr because they get Battle Roar and Hidden Pistol. Battle Roar gives some party support and Hidden Pistol gives an evade (and reliable projectile finisher). Both are things that Necros lack.
Honestly anything can work. Asura get Pain Inverter (confusion), Humans get Hounds of Balthazar (burning + very high damage and finishers), and Sylvari gives you Sylvan Hound (like Hounds but longer duration), Druid Spirit (lots of CC), Grasping Vine (also CC, although single target), and Take Root (invuln version of supply drop). I’d say Asura is the least impressive and although Sylvari has lots of options they aren’t necessarily that great.
I used to like Human’s Prayer to Lyssa on a special boon duration build (for Necromancer) but it got nerfed badly. It was only a novelty, then. Now it is less interesting.
I honestly do not know why the racial skills cannot be modified for each profession to make them more attractive and less prone to abuse by the job that suits them. For Necromancer, a utility could be Prayer to Grenth, while the only avatar available to the profession would be an improved Reaper of Grenth. Other professions could be supported by different human “gods.” Norn could have different animals based on profession. Asura could have different schools or organizations, etc.
