Necro advice for a new player.
Well, at first I don´t see any problems but would you mind sharing your exact build ?
Try this site for doing so: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/
It helps us to give you better advice.
Even using this I noticed I completely omitted armor runes, weapon sigils, accessories gems etc.
So that’s a first thing that might help me a lot.
Jup, you need definitely runes and jewels and I would say, switch your assassin-pieces into berserkers.
Overall, you have way to much crit. With decimate defenses you cap crit in a few seconds.
Despite that, I don´t see why you shouldn´t do good damage so I´m not that helpful.
Here´s the build I use, probably it can be of help as advice.

I see, now it makes some sense. Also, those trinkets are pretty powerful, did you get those in Living Season 3? I starter to progress that during my Caladbolg hunt.
Also, you use runes of strength, are those might duration worth it instead of the ferocity scholar runes offer?
thank you
Sorry for my late answer.
Yes, these trinkets are from living story 3, they are strong but some persons might consider them useless compared to berserker but it is up to you which one you prefer, I just wanted to have more than 19k health.^^
The runes of strength are worth it if you play solo mostly and if you want to keep up 25stacks might. Ferocity is not what makes the difference, 10% more damage while health above 90% is and many prefer 10% more damage.
But this damage-modifier is useless if you drop under 90% health regularly.
So, at the end it is up to you.

Ferocity makes the difference and 25 might isn’t hard to keep as a power reaper.
For reaper the rune of cruelty its better than bloodlast cause reapers cap crit chance without any problem
i dont normally use this site but i did for you

this i the greatsword build i use, Using vuln to max out your crit so your gravedigger hits always crits giving you your max dmg, i used it for all pve meta content and solo roaming not so much raids and get 7.2 k dps on golem while its under 50%, i ushually use g/s staff incase you take big condi dmg and need to get it off you, also if your doing harder fractals your can switch the first choice in soul reaping to soulmarks instead for greater life force generation and survival otherwise its alot of in and out of reaper while getting in as many gravedigger while at max might/vuln for max dmg under 50%

Now, you only get with runes of scholar 100 ferocity, that means 6.67% more crit-damage.
In my opinion it doesn´t have that much impact and I would rather have 45% increased might-duration than 6%-7% more crit-damage.
Furthermore I want to keep up might always.
That means, when I go out of the shroud to reload it, I would like to keep 25stacks might. Higher might-duration is helpful then.
Hm, I don´t really understand because there are no runes of bloodlust or cruelty but I suppose you mean the weapon-sigils.
And more over I think you´re questioning why I added 7% more crit.
Well, I prefer 40% crit out of shroud.
Otherwise if you´re speaking about sigil of bloodlust and sigil of cruelty, that´s explained easy as well. More power is always better except you can effort way more ferocity. Higher base is better than higher multiplier.
Sigil of bloodlust
1250*(1+1*(1,50-1))
=1875
Sigil of cruelty
1000*(1+1*(1,67-1))
=1670

Yes, with cruelty and bloodlust I was talking about sigils, not runes. Ferocity it’s better than power with high power
For your might problem when out of shroud it’s an easy task, just keep hitting mobs while they are under 50% health or just change Peril, wich it’s one of the more laughable sigils, for Might.
