  • Well skills now use ground targeting by default. – personal thing.
  • Consume Conditions: This skill is now considered a corruption skill and applies 10 stacks of vulnerability to you for 4 seconds after use. Increased recharge to 30 seconds.
  • Lich Form: Reduced duration of this skill to 15 seconds (trait for 2 more seconds than pre nerf)
  • Spectral Walk: This skill can no longer be activated while in mid-air – death to fun, noone is allowed to be happy anymore!
  • Soul Comprehension – still exists
  • Beyond the Veil/Vampiric – didnt they learn from reanimator not to balance as if necros innately have all minions and another set of utilities?
  • Blood Magic – downed, downed, downed, downed everything (hint hint whoever was crazy to work on new BM, getting downed is not good, in fact its something that shouldnt happen to players).

The lady doth NOT protest too much since one cannot nerf everything good or at least that makes sense and is functional and then call buffs to meh or builds with core flaws outside of numbers “even to it”.

As much as I think most of the changes are terrible. There were some real gems.

The Transfusion one might be the shiniest one of the lot. Teleporting downed allies to you with a skill that hits through walls and terrain is pretty strong in PvP. The cleave denial on downeds is real.

Necro is indeed the worst profession for another 3 years. Well done anet. You killed this wonderful necro community once and for all. Nerfing consume conditions is partcilulary bad for us. It means you have to run master of corruption trait. But you cant because they also put the ONLY TWO OTHER GOOD CONDITION NECRO TRAITS BOTH AT MASTER TIER. Like lol. As far as necromancer is concerned….its dead for pvp. They utterly destroyed it. Utterly. RIP. See you on revenant everyone :P

Actually he does have a point, and the 5 extra seconds doesn’t bother me as much in my build as the 10 stacks of vuln (+10% damage) for 4 seconds. In essence adds insult to injury (literally). Both consume conditions and plague should not have been touched IMO.

5s increase in a heals cd is huge. A heal is basically sustain. Heals are incredibly important in gw2 because there are no healers. There is a reason the top pvp classes all have exceptional heals.

I don’t understand how no one is even boggled by Soul Comprehension still existing on top of a (fix) nerf…. That kitten needs an additional effect to it for combat…

I even misread this:

Master of Corruption: Reduces recharge of corruption skills by 33% but causes corruption skills to apply additional conditions to you when cast. (Condition applied varies per skill.)

I thought it was “apply conditions to foes”. I cant believe the need to put in this random downside. Its crazy. Really crazy.

The big ol’ list they gave has 3s protection for minons and the Necro for Beyond the Veil, which is about the norm for things that apply that boon, and I don’t remember values given for Vampiric, so lets freak out about those numbers when we actually see them.

You don’t think teleporting an ally about to get stomped in a PvP match has any play at all? Granted, I can agree they overdid the downed thing a bit, but there are still a couple good ones that could turn a fight around.

That said, I can’t really argue against the other criticisms, other than there was no way Spectral Walk was going to keep working the way it was.

it breaks the hot map as well, I specifically tried it in the beta. Still if you decide the only reason that’s A unique and B can break the game, then we could see a lot of skills nerfed.

im not for the nerfs to spectral walk. i just can understand why they nerf it and super speed rocket boots/swiftness leaps. i had a lot of fun bugging too but that doesnt mean that im surprised when they fix it. deathshroud falling damage mitigation was nerfed before too

Yeah, I’m not happy about the spectral walk nerf, either. Especially considering the fact that Anet stated at one point that it was working as intended.

I’m playing a full Power well ‘o mancer and I am totally fine with it in every area, except of pvp tournaments where you really don’t have a chance.
(normal pvp,pve,wvw is all fine)

So no problem for me.

Yes, now plague will do damage to you and will do more if you are specced to improve conditions. Also the only trait that worked well with it, giving it chill, is now paired against the trait that will prevent this.

And our only decent heal will now become fatal to use under pressure.

Who thought any of that was a good idea? and that’s not even mentioning half of it and things like the lich form duration nerf.

I hate this game now actually. I hate the negative feeling of my struggle, and hopes for this class getting crushed each time they release big patches. From not getting any changes at all to getting uber nerfed I just can’t keep doing this. This classes pvp role just got slammed to one build, mm. Mm is all that will work and forgive me, but no thank you. These devs don’t give two kittens for this class, don’t even play it. They give you one thing but nerf two or three things in exchange. So many wtf moments with this class that I personally think they get ankickmout of tormenting us, positive changes? Lol. This class just took a dive and will not be anywhere near pvp compared to the buffs most of the top tier classes received.

I think there were some really good changes from the look of things on the upcoming patch note, as well as bad ones.

Blood Magic for example has made some really nice changes. Things like Consume Condition, corruption skills, mobility, axe skills, minion control, etc on the other hand were either bad or hasn’t even been touched on.

Let’s be clear. These nerfs aren’t why necromancers are deader than dead.

We had that cool down on consume conditions before, and vulnerability is weak. We’ll still use it. Cliff jumping generated a “is this an exploit” thread every week, and is a generous price to pay for anet fixing broken teleports (if that happens).

Necromancers are dead because:

No defense against range — new ranged specialties and rangers get 1500 base!

Relies on debuffs instead of movement — Debuffs got nerfed, removal got buffed, and Resistence!

Ping Pong Ball

Sitting duck against Immobilize Spam — Immobilize stacking didn’t get fixed!

Bad group support — Here have some 2nd tier Ressing skills and boon removal! (signet removal is worse than boon removl on autoattack by far)

Long cast-time long cool down heals — now nerfed!

Axe is the worst weapon in the game!

i want the devs who “brainstormed” the Necro changes and put them out thinking that they know what the kitten they are talking about to come and explain to us just how kittening clueless they really are.

hey devs, stop playing Necros through kittening spread sheets and get in the kittenING GAME and actually play against competent opponents and not kittening dummies or w/e it is you use to create these perfect storm scenarios, where Necros might be OP in a controlled environment that DOES NOT mimic actual gameplay experienced by the actual players, so you feel the justification for not buffing them to the extent that they need to be viable!!!! the way you guys are “developing” Necros shows a complete lack of respect for our intelligence and time. if you don’t want people to play Necros just come right out and say it, coz this is getting kittening tiring!!!!
