Necro's IMO Need Rework
Lol, you do know raised/corupted human/oids are the main enemies in this game, right, and that everything you just said is a complete lorerape. The thing even remotely viable is the ghost thing, if it could be streched to something like: Zhaitan enslaved their dead bodies, now necros call on their power to aid them in their fight so they return as ghosts. But even that is streching it pretty far. Like really far. Like to a galaxy far, far away where vulcans helped humans defeat Sauron, who was in fact really a love child between The Lich King and Nicolas Cage.
I don’t mind our minions currently, but I do feel we need more options.
I have heard a LOT of people saying they don’t want to use minions as a Necromancer, and I personally don’t understand this. I don’t use them currently because they’re broken. But summoned minions are what defines a Necro. To say you want to be a Necro without minions is like to say you want to be a Ranger without a pet, or a Mesmer without any clones.
I definitely think we need a higher minion cap, even just in the form of more abilities like bone minions that summon two at once

The examples your using are using are all from Guildwars 2, not from any other concepts or games, not even Guildwars 1, Ranger without a bow I would consider more drastic, a Mesmer without clones is pretty easy concept considering its a pretty new thing to happen, but yea… :P
P.S: our minions are crap, I’d rather have 3 long range minions then any short range, that means I’d be able to summon them, and go in for the close range myself… It opens up more playing styles and better gameplay.
You`ve read my thoughts=). When I was playing with minions in the beginning at first it has hard to switch to minion based play in gw2 because here minions are basically cannon fodder(maybe except flesh golem) of course they do their part, but still something is amiss. I thought about a way to make your unique minions or upgrade them, but that wouldn`t be a good idea in gw.
While not sure about skeletons and golems (rock golem is more elemental style thing), it feels like necro should be able to summon all spectral beings (no way to summon aatxe and fleshreaver is open for all classes using sigil).
Zombies – would like to rise zombie if available from defeated foe, not all of course, no giant zombies and no zombies from enemies that don`t leave corpse=), but why not raise some champion bandit or veteran wolf which for balance will have 30% less
health and damage but would have all other abilities.
And of course would like to see ability to temporary control spectral/shadow/undead beings, when enemy becomes ally for a brief duration(will depend on level)
Some of this might sound a bit WoWish, but those are the things what I`d like to see from necromancer – the one who controls death, not runs around with magic wand scratching enemies.
