Q:

So yeah guys i’m a spvp’er and for now the condi builds are at the top with some hybrid options. But for a long time i’ve been thinking about pure power builds(crit dmg, lich form etc.) If we ignore the part where by using lich elite you become a huge target that’s asking to get zerged down the thing that bothers me is the skills on “focus” and especially the cast time on #5. I would like to say that it’s far too long while #4 mby should be toned down to 1/2 sec.
Pretty much i would love to hear your opinion and plz add which part of the game you are playing so we have a better picture of your stance.

I totally agree. When I use the Focus in PvP (and PvE for that matter) it’s primarily for it’s #4 skill due its ability to quickly stack vulnerability and gather a nice amount of Life Force. I’ll of course use skill #5 when I’m facing a profession that puts on Protection, but most other boons are just not worth the skill’s lengthy cast time.

A lot of necro skills have really long cast time, but focus 5 is pretty ridiculous, the most effective way to use it is often casting it before you’re in range while closing the gap, so you just get in range when it finishes.

I agree focus 5 probably takes too long to cast, but considering it strips 3 boons and applies chill, I can live with it. I’d say it’s a situational move to remove important boons (stability, protection) rather than something you’d spam for the chill condition

To be fair the condition build already has dagger off-hand. The focus is designed with power builds in mind.

If only we had a weapon to spawn minions, then maybe we could be a minion master actually.

At the very least it gives pretty good life force, which is something difficult to get for conditionmancers.

I would like that too, but for now the focus makes a decent alternative as the vulnerability it gives synergizes well with minions.

love, love, love the focus. #4 is one of those skills thats good for any situation. u wanna hit it as often as possible for the regen, life force, and vulnerability stacks. #5, while it can miss due to long cast times, is a looong chill. chill is the best debuff in the game, hands down. it doesnt take much to chain DS #2, focus #5, staff #3, and sigil of hydromancy to keep chill on someone until theyre dead.

Skill reduction is no joke kiddos. Chill is how you kill bunkers and roamers using the same build (at the same time if yer bauce).
