So i got my necro to level 80 and it was my first toon at cap so i tought it’d be my main, only thing keeping me from buying exotic gear etc. is the fact that when i read forums, it seems necros aint too good at the moment, lots of bugs and overall QQ.

I dont really wanna get all exotic gear and then just realise that a ranger/warrior seems to outdps me in both AoE, bleeds and burst damage…

So all opinions are welcome^^

If yes keep playing him. They will fix the numerous bugs eventually. Re-rolling a fotm class might be good in the short term but the OP classes are going to get weaker proportionally to the Necro over time.

If yes, I hear Mesmers are fun.

If you are worried about DPS, just reroll. You will just start kicking yourself in the head if you try to compete with any other class in DPS

Your priorities should be fun factor first, then effectiveness. If you don’t enjoy your necro, play another character. For that matter if you don’t enjoy your necro, i don’t know why you leveled him/her to 80.

We quite literally do not have burst, we excel at condition micromanagement (but not necessarily application) and I’m of the opinion that we have the widest selection of area effect abilities (that deal more in sustained and condition damage).

If you wan’t to DPS don’t play a Necro.

Otherwise its a pretty good class all around besides its damage output / itemization.

I play both Necro and Warrior and slowly gear them up. But for me Necro is wild card, because part of me do not believe that Anet going to make changes for them and class ends up in “broken” loop for years. But if necro will be fixed then at least I have one already.

I do enjoy playing necro, its just very confusing when one says use staff, one says go with sceptre/dagger build.

I quess ill gear necro up just if i could sort the builds up^^

Soo new question, staff or sceptre? Im quessing its then your own preference from what i’v read around forums, but any kind of links to ’’best’’ builds. (ik ik theres no best, just couldnt find another word for it >_<)

Sceptre/Dagger if you’re doing a condi build, then you can use staff as your second weapon to drop some aoe.

Staff is a secondary weapon, always. You need the range of Staff to have any meaningful impact

Best build is what you come up yourself while playing and experimenting to suit your gamestyle and needs. Try often, try them all, tailor your own. I can tell you this, you cant go horribly wrong, even if you do totally bizare build, you still going to preform “OK”.

If you go to Mists, you can respec 24/7 without pay and test your builds on goblems with free 80 weapons, sigils, gear ect. Great way to spend time.

Yes, the bug fixes; just like the numerous amount of bug fixes we got this week…

I’ve been having a great time – parties seem to be great since my constant health-manipulation keeps me alive longer than most other players. Corrupting buffs and adding ailments to mobs so that my team can plow over them also gives me a fuzzy/warm feeling since it makes their jobs easier too.

Haha, I wouldn’t worry about rangers out-damaging you any time soon.

Things will change over time. I suggest choosing a “main” class based on flavor, not on forum whining. Mists lets you play the FotM broken things anyway.
