I am with Teladis, I find them welcoming. Only sad thing is I can no longer use Lingering Curse and Parasitic Contagion together. Terror being Grandmaster is probably the only thing I found overly hurtful.

I feel like you saw alot of that wrong o.O The protectionf or minions was on the final minor trait I believe. and it was in ADDITION to protection yourself which is useful regardless. Not a minion only thing.
Unholy martyr will go really well with the new necromantic corruption. Suck up condis and feed em back (provided they get fixed)
The new well trait is pretty sweet. And most wellomancers went for reduced cooldowns ANYWAY. not like itl require any more investment than it did before AND tehy get the free protection now.
The new dhuumfire is great.
Is it perfect? no. But then I didn’t expect it to be. I feel itl allow us to survive in our professed role more easily though.
Still needs more. IMO its not enough. But im waiting to see.
The fact that you can take life force drains slower and reduced spectral charge at the same time really sucks for death shroud build. spectral skills are mostly useful as they give life force and stun break

I like what I saw, but then I’m a power necro.
Dhuumfire is exciting.
Blood magic still sucks. Much more conflicting with DS now since deathly invigoration heals when you enter so you receive no benefit from it.
It’s a massive slap in the face. Blood and death magic will still be the two worst traitlines in the whole game for 3 years running. I got so hopeful after seeing the other classes changes. They need to hire someone who actually cares about the class. It is pretty evident from the stream none of those guys care at all. We will still have the exact same problems we have now, didn’t see any buffs to mobility, didn’t see any extra resistance to cc, we will still have terrible access to boons.

That is just incredible from a Lead Design.
In that case why they don’t just delete the necromancer if they can’t bring more love/passion when designing and talking about the necromancer.
I like the chances, my Power Build is better with both Chill-trait and Increased DS survive skills.

Condi well u dont get to have both Scepter 100% Duration and Terror wich is a hard choice I guess ( they want Condi Necro and Terrormancer to seperate I guess)

I felt the changes were overall great. Condition got a huge potential buff with Dhuumfire stacking 3 burning on its own with no extra duration, Scepter having 100% condition duration to all outgoing conditions while equipped. Minions got some potentially really nice changes, we had a lot of traits consolidated together, some base buffs to things.
I really don’t see what there is to complain about. This is trait changes, they can’t fix all of our problems. But they are absolutely a large move in the right direction, and these are tentative.
This fixed none of our issues. Blood magic still sucks, we still are super vulnerable to focus fire and we’re useless in PvE. Incredibly disappointing. Do the devs even play this class?

This is utterly ridiculous. The class that is objectively the least viable in 2/3 gamemodes gets the least buffs after Mesmer, Guardian and Thief gets all those buffs? This has to be an elaborate joke on their part.
I think they screwed terrormancer builds…. .basically you can do terror, and that is freaking about it…. and you have to choose between terror and getting a decent condi duration, whereas now, I don’t have to choose. They weakened us to make us just ok….
I just don’t know wtf they are thinking at all. I see they realize minion builds were limited and needed some more synergy, but I am steaming about the nerf to condi builts, and completely dependent on having one godkitten grandmaster. It will be a nerf to condi builds.
There were some positive things though. No ICD on Dhuumfire, 100% condi duration on scepter, and Minion condi transfer trait seems pretty amazing. Could probably create some monster MM condi/ds build with this? Unyielding blast + Dhummfire should grant burning on each hit right? Will be interesting to see.

Well said that man. ArenaNet are compelled to “balance” the Necromancer from what they had at launch, it would seem.
Try giving us some party support to bring us up to par, maybe then actually find a focus where the Necro can provide something unique. At the moment, we have nothing – and from the body language / dialogue of those devs on stream, they don’t seem to care.
Jon Peters wasn’t in charge of the Necromancer changes, so who gives a crap what he thought, and Grouch doesn’t do anything involved with balance.

I saw that too but I honestly can’t imagine that there really will be a single trait that instantly maxes out every condi duration, even if you can’t have Terror at the same time.

It’s just so irritating listening to them laugh all goofy about these ranger changes “oo so cool hurhur” when they were almost sighing halfway through necro stuff like “god do we really have to talk about this class more”. And now you can’t have transfusion and the heal on ds exit/enter at the same time, which is great, cause we had way too many support options.
Sigh.

There is a lot of good stuff that could happen.
We’ve given enough feedback on these forums to build 3 of this class from scratch. I’m tired of giving feedback that gets ignored. No amount of feedback will change how they feel about the class, which is a literal step away from literally just deleting it (when you joke so casually about deleting a class it says something).

Nah we have some skills that actually have good scaling with healing power and to be honest the minor is not that bad but the line as a whole still sucks.
What the point of all those healing/siphon traits if they dont work in DS… Not to mention the terrible numbers…

There is a lot of good stuff that could happen.
Not really we were looking and got disappointed , Anet has been balancing necro on paper since forever always thinking best case scenario. Self heals in DS wasn’t mentioned it is big but engi got F5 didn’t they? I saw more improvement for mesmer and ele than necro also the fact that no skills rebalance were mentioned makes it worse. Base necro will still have the hindrance of DS while the specialisation might be saved.
With increase of offense and CC necro got the short end of the stick our “defense” wasn’t really improved. Not sure what their ideal scenario was but to us it’s the worse.

It doesnt seem broken in any direction. Defensive utiltys and finally adressing the 0% LF problem and were good to go.

Next thing is you can say, We have been giving feedback for years and not being listen too. Well now is the chance? When the game is doing some major changes and tweaks and they are going through the classes like this. Now is the best time to calm down, go over what you like, dislike, and ask what you would like for the class.
They do read the forums, and class changes are not something they can snap fingers to do. Now that they are heavily focus on changing classes. They want good feedback, on what makes necromancer “Fun”. Having to make hard choices on what skill to get is what they want.

Would be nice if they removed the 0.5s aftercast that shouldn’t even be there to begin with. But really now, Thief got massives buffs like being able to use stolen skills twice(I cant wait to get hit by double Skull Fear) and having Panic Strike AND Executioner.
Mesmer got IP baseline and a 50% damage on inactive. And Lockdown Mesmer was already a hard counter to Necro. This spells certain death for a Necro if there’s a Mesmer anywere in a mile wide radius of him. Guardian got a good amount of delicious multi-merge traits and those Symbol buffs.
Compare that to what we got. I dare you.

Some of the changes are good. But then the condi changes are good at lower levels but once you get to grandmaster you just have 3 traits sitting on top of each other. Which is really bad IMO.
After all the cool stuff shown before necro… they nerf Target the Weak by changing it to provide crit chance instead of damage bonus and get excited about a minion trait. Too bad minions are comparable to a bugged iWarden.
But what could you expect after an entry joke “we removed necro”? My guess is that GS will be a useless ranged weapon like mesmer’s one and noone will ever use necromancer in a dungeon again. Sad.
The changes we got do not look too shabby, but when compared to the ones other classes got? I do not know, guys. I do not think people will be seeing much necro play in PvP. I do not think they can compete.
