I thought I’d make sure everyone here sees the new forum specialist thing. It might be good if someone wants to do the job. Seems to be a person who would just compile complaints and answer the questions that get asked all the time. The second part is meh, but if anet actually listens that first role could be pretty neat.

I can really only think of a few people who could even qualify to do this, I’m going to guess most of the more vocal people on this forum have infractions though.

Maybe i should try and sign up haha. Always down to help, but i definitely can think of a few more vocal people then me though.

I considered it, but I procrastinate too much. May give it a shot anyway.

remember being form the US and over 18 are also requirements (18+ is easy, but living in the US? i’m going to assume many potential candidate don’t)

I’m still covered. Pretty sure Zombify is too.

Darn. I’m a bit too opinionated for that. Plus my focus is the necromancer’s balance and not much else.

I’m just curious why they are adding another level to the communications chain.

Weren’t the forums read by the devs but they don’t have time to reply?

Now it starts with players……then to forum specialists…..to forum communication team…..to devs. Maybe there’s a level or two before devs I’ve missed like program coordinators and program leads.

Sounds like another way to get things to NOT be heard.

I am in full favor of nominating Drarnor Kunoram for forum specialist. He’s been here since the beginning of release so he’s seen the changes of this class and its evolution. Been away for a year, guys! Hopefully going to come back and crunch the numbers again

Good. I can think of a few others who would be good choices but it’s good to know that we have some solid options out there for us.

25? That’s quite a number. I’d assign one specialist for each trait line. For example, Varg Vikernes could take Curses.

There are 25 active forums after the changes…… coincidence?

Although I don’t see the need for a specialist in News and Announcements, Game Release Notes, or even Dev Tracker forums which have one way communication.

Anyone else remember the last necromancer player that got turned into a dev? I forget his name but he caused some pretty bad stuff to happen to our class.

I don’t think anyone should even qualify for this unless they have at least 100 games on every class and 1000+ games on necromancer. I almost have 100 games on all classes by now but I’m Canadian so I can’t apply. (I’m also permanently banned on my actual account on the forum lol)

Second, no. I don’t recall any Necro players joining ArenaNet. I do recall Grouch, who’s an Engineer player, though.

Maybe he means nemesis? Nemesis suggested something like terror, that worked out for us pretty well. Not sure who else it could be, unless he just means johnathan sharp.

Power was his name, he was hired for a short period.

I think that would be a good idea if it is meant to be a help for new players or players who change profession and need guidance. In terms of giving feedback or getting somehow in touch with Anet i think that would be a really really frustrating job since Anet don´t give a flying kitten about what players have to say regarding professions, balance and so on, their communication regarding this is almost non existent.

Primary function is to distill feedback and get it to the devs. Downside is that this communication is one-way. Even if a forum specialist does get inside info, they’re under an NDA.

Only if my application is accepted. Unfortunately, Galie’s post was rather void of dates for deadlines and selection.

Drarnor would be a good candidate indeed from his help, knowledge and activity over all this time on the forums.

Bhawb and Spoj are also names that come to mind.
