Guild Wars 2

Hey guys,

My new brethren. I just returned to GW2 after a few months off, after playing a Thief to 80. I was looking for a new class and wanted to do an engineer, but wasn’t having a ton of fun with it. I tried Necro last night for quite a while, and so far I have found my new class!
Dagger is super fun for leveling. But if anyone has any advice, don’t hesitate to speak up, otherwise you should be seeing on the forum quite a bit, a new one for the Necromancer clan!

Play with all the combinations, just because people think Scepter dagger + staff is the best doesnt mean you should not try it out and find a better combination.

Have fun and don’t listen to the negative Nancy’s on the forum.. The necro’s not as gimped as most people say.

Don’t hesitate to drop in and out of death shroud. If you’re auto-attacking with your dagger while your life force bar is at 100%, you may as well drop into death shroud to mitigate some damage. And unless you have a specific purpose / skill in mind, you don’t need to stay in death shroud until you drain it to 0%, especially since life blast gets weaker when you’re under 50% life force. Doom is a solid interrupt skill, so don’t forget about it when you see a big skill winding up! Life transfer is pretty strong, and a nice AoE option for any build.

I too am new and really enjoying my Necro. Needed to try something new as all I’ve done is play my Engi since launch and chose Necro based on no one crying for it being OP and obviously has the coolest looking spells in the game. I run D/D and A/F with wells and even though it sucks when I get focused, I’m loving it! I just hope you Necros have the comradery and awesome sense of humor that we have over at the Engineer forums

Hello everyone I too am new to Necromancer and also Guild Wars 2 as well. I was thinking of running a Scepter/Dagger build with Staff as secondary. I know I probably shouldn’t worry much but I was curious to stat priority. With the low level gear only having Power, should I use Conditions into the upgrade slots or stack Vitality/Toughness? Any tips and pointers for a very low leveling necromancer is much appreciated.

The necromancer forum is like a funeral because everybody’s crying, but imo this is the more challenging and funny class to play,

As for skrai.6123 with a low level condition necromancer try to focus as much as you can on condition damage and precision and grab the second trait tree as fast as you can, anyway leveling with a necromancer is super easy, you can even use minions,

In fact i recomend you enjoy the leveling part with your minions because latter they will become useless,

I tried D/D with axe on Spvp and wvw and it really sucks, i’d recomend you to stick with it only if you are going to use wells and focus on DS,

Even with a fast life force regeneration, your auto attack while under DS with a high power // precision // critical won’t reach more than 4K,

Hello, a new Necro here too.
Yesterday I created my Necro alt and I’m loving it. I use Dagger/Focus-Staff and I want to ask is this viable for leveling? Also which utilitys should I grab? So far I’ve taken Signet of Locust to make leveling/exploring faster.
