Pretty straight-forward question.

I know Necromancers are good with group support, but I like to run off on my own and kill people. So, can Necromancers hang with most classes 1v1 and do they have decent mobility and escape options? Thanks

No to mobility and escape, but if you are any good currently you can slaughter anyone who decides to stick around

I have some good roaming footage with a ranger friend of mine in 2vX scenarios. I won’t claim it is nearly as interesting or amazing as a thief fighting 20 people, but it is pretty interesting to watch. I tried to record only the outmanned scenarios…

My personal thoughts on it are that you need to roam with another condition based class to really get a lot out of epidemic, someone tanky and disruptive, and someone attentive to when you go down. I will post the video later.
