I am back after a long time. I stopped at level 75 the last time and I see there has been many changes to the skill system and stuff. I was wondering, how should I skill a sceptre/dagger + staff Necromancer? Are they still decent?

For now I will just be doing PvE stuff until I reach level 80. I am reluctant to use a dagger build as I want to play a ranged Necromancer who employs conditions.

If you mean which traits to use, generally a condition necro will put 4 points into curses for terror. After that you have flexibility depending on whether you want minions, defense, more conditions, etc. which also depends on what mode you play.

If your going to do PVE I would go all in on the curses line and get the lingering curse at the end of it as well.

Then probably staff mastery. Then start running the spite line.

Are there any decent water Necromancer skill builds (weapons?)? Especially considering how much underwater combat there is later on.

There is almost 0 underwater content in the game, and even less at lvl 80

Ah. I stand corrected. I am at the Straits of Devastation now though so I would need something decent underwater.

Can you be more specific?

Range and conditions you say? I hate to say this, but try to mix in a power spear now and again. Trident by itself can be a bit tedious if you ask me.

I don’t know if there are any tricks to UW combat but to train. I used to have Ship of Sorrows as my training ground, but alas =)

Relax… nothing is under control

Necro underwater, you say? Trident obviously, and then epidemic. The rest is fairly optional, but filling one foe with conditions and then spreading them to the others around it clears underwater stuff pretty fast. Bonus if you get the enemies clumped up enough to hit more than one with the trident auto-attack

Slap a sigil of earth on that trident, and personally I recommend condi/prec/toughness for PVE exploring.

Spear is excellent for single target. You will need a good spear/trident for fractals anyhow.

Honestly, you have 5 levels to 80. Just do it.

A MM farming build is probably the easiest when browsing Orr. You can use axe, scepter, dagger, or staff. Your minions will hold aggro. When they die, laugh like a mad hatter and cuse those left until CD on the newly dead undead is over. Minions under water are good.
