Hi Guys And Gals,
I’m Looking Into Making A Wells Necro For My Guild During WvW. Mostly Zerg Fightin, And Not So Much Roaming As I Have Other Toons For that. I Have A Few Questions.
1) Which Stat DoWells Benefit From? Power For Dmg, Do Wells Crit At All? Should I Stsck Condition Duration For The Added Duration Of The Wells? Should I Mix?
2) ObviouSly Staff IsGoingTo Be A Main Weapon And I’m.A Little Iffy OnMy Secondary Set. WhichIs A Good Secondary Scepter With WarHorn. ForThe Speed Maybe.
3) Which Type Of Traits Should I Use? Should I Get The Targeted Wells I Assume That’s A Must And Bigger Marks As Well Right?
4) with This Build I Assume I Won’t Bee Doing Rediculous Damage Right AndIts MoreFor Zerg Control And Group Support?
I Appreciate AllThe ResponsesAnd Input And I Do HaveAn OpenMind To Suggestions. I JustWasn’tTo BeeThreeBestI Could Be For My GuIld.
1) Power is stat you go for if you want to improve actual well damage, condition duration doesn’t help extending the wells themselves but conditions you get out of them (suffering = vulnerability, corruption = converted boons), and yes they do crit.
2) If you’re planning on going the condition route then staff & scepter / dagger will be your best option for damage.
3) If you plan to stay at range then focused rituals will of course help a lot, other well related traits are up to you (bearing in mind vampiric rituals only affects yourself)
4) If you’re after all damage, then Corruption and Suffering are the only ones that deal actual damage. I’d suggest however if you’re going for condition damage you just use corruption & a supporting well (power, darkness or blood) because Suffering benefits mostly from power builds imo and you’ll want to bring something useful to the group. Use 2 wells and something else (epidemic for example, to spread conditions created from well of corruption, or Signet of undeath for the res.).
OWow Ok Thanks! So As Far As Armor Prefix Rampsger Set With Power/Prec/Condition WouldBe A Good Bet Right? I WouldJust Have To Switch Too Staff And Move Traits As I Run A Hybrid Build. For Trinkets XShould I Go With More Toughness And Vitality For Survivability OR Just Kerp My Ruby Jewels?
i suggest you look up following link for a hybrid and add as requiered
I’m Taking About I Currently Run A Hybrid So The Stats Should Be The Dane For Wells I Don’t Have To Change Much JustA Few Trinkets And Traits
IMO there are Huge differences in build choice:
- if you want to run around solo or in a small group then you could chose condi / hyb / power(?)
- if you mainly run around with a big group you should use a totally different build; something focused on staff / marks / aoes (wells?… too big a cooldown IMO; not sure, nor am I an expert in any way)
I run a PVT armor/soldiers with zerker trinkets. I switch utilities and weapons depending on what I’m doing. While in a zerg I’ll have staff and axe/focus. I’ve run both 30/20/20/0/0 or 0/20/20/30/0. I feel I survive more as 0/20/20/30/0. Always have 2 wells, the third utility is either Signet of the Locust or Spectral Walk. Elite is Plague Form in zergs and Flesh Golem as a roamer. Spectral Walk before Plague Form is a moving well. Chilling Darkness trait is what makes this fun. Nothing like seeing the enemy just go in slow motion as you blind them and then get stomped by your friends. Lots of kills. Lots of loot bags.
20/20/0/30/0 d/d staff full knights master maintenance oils omnomberry pies and dolyak runes
If that’s not doing it for you you can go 10/20/10/20/10 knights armor berserker jewels scholar runes d/wh staff. This build is better in giant zergs. You won’t be as tanky but you should put up some very good damage.
