Well that 50% isnt working yet, just so you know. Also im amazed your staff 1 hits most players with its slow speed.
well am kitten cas whenever a thief kills someone they calls me and i own the thief, now its gone if this speed thingy comes n with the projectile buff, i have no chance with thieves now, and it suppose to be even, buff em up just take their 3 sec cleanse in stealth away ….. and i will see how they drop like flies :P

Nope because you must be in range for the hit to happen. You can run behind the projectile and make it chase, but it won’t hit a target out of max range from wherever you happen to be.
Also, no longer inspired to log in to the game at all. Punch Hero > Warlock called Necro.

Nope because you must be in range for the hit to happen. You can run behind the projectile and make it chase, but it won’t hit a target out of max range from wherever you happen to be.
I kno m8, am just saying we cant even hit a thief how am i suppose to kill em ? A net is forgetting necro is the one n only exceptional class they have, why buff up thieves when thye alrdy doin like 15k damage in 2 sec?
they said all will be balanced, no dd no healer blablabla ……. now they giving such burst to thieves that wll kill u in 2 sec and so much stealth so its IMPOSSIBLE to kill em? or rather say hit em even ?
u dont get to play necro in most games its unique its fun its awesom but just delete it so we can just move on ….. remove the profession
I’m going to go for 1 on this quiz. I hold very little hope that minions will be made viable outside of leveling, much like turrets on an engie.
3, Anet do listen to some suggestions or shows common sense every now and then. I know this since I also played GW1. Even then Soul reaping was the most nerffed aspect of the game, but like good troopers the necros kept going at it making havoc…

I still play my necro a bit, but I also have a level 80 mesmer, ele, and guardian. Of the 4, necro is definitely the least useful right now and my ele and guardian are receiving the most attention.
For all those that answered 1 or 2,
Which of the following do you find Necros underwhelming in:
a. PvE (dungeons, world bosses, etc.)
b. WvW
c. sPvP/tPvP (not just with random groups, but as organized teams)
The reason I ask is that I play Necro a lot in WvW and run a fair amount of dungeons as well. In my opinion, Necro excels at 1vMany combat. Between staff weapon skills, epidemic, and wells, Necro can really dish out the damage and conditions to large groups of enemies. This is fine for dungeons or WvW, where you are often fighting 20+ enemies as a team. Likewise, Necro’s more attrition based design compliments the survivability needed in these two modes. For running around solo in WvW, there are better classes, but in large group combat, I’ll take my Necro over other classes any day.
I am no expert at s/tPvP, as it’s not really my cup of tea, but it seems that Necro’s style of slowly breaking down opponents would be ill-suiting for the faster kind of play found in sPvP. Where some other classes can easily obtain a burst damage build, Necros is not suited for this role. Before people respond with “you nub, look at my leet burst dmg necro build!”, I’m not saying that it’s not possible, but it is not what the class is generally focused on. That leaves Necro with support and bunker, which obviously does not appeal to everyone.

Jagged Horrors are still little pieces of crap that die in one hit, but they give me poison combo fields, so it’s not all THAT bad.
But seriously, either make Jagged Horrors have no degeneration or lower the cooldown of the Reanimator ability considerably. Because as it is, the skill is a waste of 5 trait points.
Though I’m not playing necro as much as my 4 other level 80s. It’s a shame because it’s a cool class, but it still feels rather squishy even with Knight’s gear. Annoys me that you can’t have good damage with the necro unless you’re a condition build, because my minions seem braindead. A lot of times they stand around doing nothing even when I’m attacking enemies or being attacked. >_>
@Kyskythyn Cant pick any of those as the problems i have playing the class is the overall design they made and how it feels as they at one point figured out how completely messed up it was, abandonded the class making it barely viable, forced into specifc build, released with TONS of bugs, DS ui thats just insanely poor thought out, minions still not working(pve your better off running around with golem but get so annoyed by it’s lack of will to do anything or go off random directed for random mob).
Know when i feel usefull ? when i can pop Epidemic for massive aoe and instant kill adds around boss or whatever.
Look at warrior’s and how they can use many different things with a nice synergy between traits weapons etc. A class ability that doesnt take away user control, can make it suit whatever you wish it for, burst dmg , aoe knockdown… <- you know CHOICES.
1. Never got into PVE with my necro, but I pretty much play anything other than it, log in to my necro when ever I have an idea for something to try, go into a few rounds, verify that it is in fact also dog kitten and then log out to go play guardian, mesmer, thief, you know those classes that have viable roles and builds for pvp.
Complaining over a complaint. Crying over a cry. The real child is you, no one here is cursing and banging their heads on the pc (with the exception of Deadfly.3268).
I know it’s hard to expect reading comprehension from people on a gaming forum, but surely you can’t be this idiotic. Or are you just rectally damaged that I’m one of the few people trying to be the voice of reason here?

I’m a R42 necro from BWE, got rank 27 in first week offical qp ladder.
Now I’m going to afk until next patch in Jan, then decide to delete game or not.
Guardian, Elementalist and Ranger now destory everything in high level paid tournament games, just look Team PZ’s stream.
They will have countless area boons, healing and area damage/burst if they group up.
Well of Corruption?
Only remove 1 boon every second, meanwhile they will add 2 or 3 boons in one second.
Corrupt Boons?
Sorry, we don’t have “Mass Corrupt Boons”
Try to build your bleed damage?
They will remove your conditions by cleansing wave, smite condition, shout with rune of soldier or trait auto remove every 10s. You need more than 40s to burn their skills and start “true damage”, but they only need 10-20s to finish you.
In high competitive tournaments, Necros already got a ruined minion build, a useless soul reaping trait, a ridiculous bunker build without stability, a waste nuke build has no burst skill, a cripple condition build.
I’ve endured enough for all above, for other professions abused haste, block, invincibility, break stun with teleport or protection, and easy stability.
What we got?
A longest cooldown break stun skill “spectral armor”, a 60s cooldown break stun skill “spectral walk” doesn’t give you any protection, a 1.5s cast time break stun skill “summon flesh wurm” you will never release in harsh situation.
Do we have haste, block or invincibility?
In my dream.
Do we have stability?
You need 30 points on useless Soul Reaping trait to get 3s stability. but you can’t finish a stomp move even you reach a maximum 60% boons last longer. Oh, I forget we got a 180s cooldown Plague Form stomp, so nice!
I really hope ANET fix these problems, make tournament more equal and more competitive.
I don’t have a main, I have 6 character slots and which profession I play depends on my mood.
Thief is my highest (61 currently) and has the most map completion (37% I believe) and my favorite profession to explore with because stealth is awesome.
Necro is my second highest (51 currently) and spec’d into Minion Master and my favorite to solo group event bosses like a champ.
My Ranger and Warrior are both at 37.
My undecided low characters are Ele and Guardian who are new(ish) and in their teens.
So I guess my answer is 3.
6) Ignore the idiots whining and making flame bait posts and appreciate what we have as a class.
I would not quit the game nor the necromancer regardless of any imbalance there might be with this class. I may end up playing other classes more often in sPvP though but Necro will remain my main at least in PvE.

You guys should know better.
This is the same company that introduced a revamp to the dervish after ~3 years of its existence and never delivered the promised changes to the ever broken Paragon in GW1.
So if you guys are lucky, after a couple of years, you might see a revamp to this class, make it OP, then slowly nerf stuff enough to make the class underpowered again.
Or, if you are unlucky, you can just wait for GW3 which may just end up having a better necromancer!

For me honestly it’s a toss between 3 and 4, because while I acknowledge the gripes people have with the class, I still love the Necromancer. I don’t find him squishy at all and think he has a fairly high survivability. I run Pugs in Dungeons a lot, and I enjoy the mass AoEs at the Necro’s disposal in both PvE and PvP areas. My main problems with the Necromancer is that Anet seems to be consistently nerfing our abilities and short-changing us at the core of what the Necromancer was promised to be. I still find the Necro to be the funnest character to play out of any of the classes and I continue to hope that eventually this class will get the much-needed attention it needs.
For now, loading up mass AoEs of conditions on enemies in dungeons then #4 on Death Shroud. Works great for add control.
3) Continuing to give hope in ANET to change and try to listen to the community.
It’s a two part reason really.
1. I still think it’s possible for Anet to fix the problems with the necro. They seem to be looking for the root of specific issues all together and apply the fix to all skills across all classes suffering from it. I don’t expect necro specific fixes so I’m not really in a rush.
2. They added a guaranteed way for me to get ascended gear with tokens, so now I’m happy to play again. I don’t want to abandon all the detail in this game.

Doing something that has not been done before on this section, at least from my knowledge. Hopefully this will show ANET where they are standing with their customers.
Who here made one of the three decision after seeing these patch notes, and months of neglect + disrespect ANET has shown the necro community:
1) Quit the profession, and moved onto a different profession.
2) Quit the game.
3) Continuing to give hope in ANET to change and try to listen to the community.
4) Loved the recent patch, still playing the necro.I’ll start and say i chose number 2, because the necro is the only profession i enjoy and the neglect to key bugs/balance threw me off after waiting since BWE3.
State the number/reason behind your decision.
4 – My Signet of the Locust run speed went from 10% to 25%. That’s been a positive quality of life change. I switched to a power dagger build and have been having a lot of fun. Then again, I don’t obsess over balance or patch notes, just play the game and have fun.
Needs more options, one that is something like:
“I was doing fine prior to the patch, and while it wasn’t great, it managed to provide a few buffs and bug fixes that had a mildly positive affect on my gameplay”

Ya i understand that, however i try to make it more in general way. There will have to be plenty of options if i made it that way because each person will have his/her own opinions.
4, I’m doing just fine. Seriously, this community whines way too much about everything. It’s a big game and it doesn’t revolve around you. Change and reacting to feedback takes more than the hour turnaround from deployment to people kittening about it on the internet.

One question: what are you all whinign about? I play Necromancer alot since BW1 and am now r40 in pvp(only tpvp and paid tournaments). The recent patch was a big nerf to us as we have no good ascess to swiftness anymore, but before the patch necro was just so kittening strong. Use trebuchet on Khylo? WHo needs that, Necro has more DPS. AOE Instant Rezz, insane AOE dps and even more single Target dps. YOu could literaly kill an entire team in less than 10 seconds. Ofcourse, people would focus you, but with fleshworm and smart play you where able to survive that. If they send a Thief or Warri to kill you you could just kill them 1 vs 1…….
So what exactly is your problem as a necromancer?

I quit after their continuous failures to deliver anything, karka was like the last drop… haven’t touched the game till wintersday. Came back only to see more failures to do anything about broken classes while at full speed busy throwing more and more lotterys. If i wanna waste money I think wiping my kitten is more productive then just throwing it away. Just one decent aspect in game doesn’t make it good or even worthwhile. This is like SWTOR all over again. Even if you give a billion to a kitten and ask him to make a simple hut… the result will still be a failure.
Just because who ever did the level design deservers a kittening medal and praise. The rest of the game truly is on level of asian “free” to download crap. You either play with flavor of the month class or be prepared that it will never change.
Just to have enough bank space to store few sets of gear… You could pay for about a year subscription to WoW. Sad…. Considering there if you pay your sub rest is purely matter of dedication and work… well…. it used to be… before blizzard died and kittenvision used their name to milk naive people.
Since I’m just going to go back to hibernation since this event is another money laundry I don’t even care that the post will be instantly removed as usual and I’ll get suspended for a month again.

1 spec for wvw and dungeons doesn’t mean its good.
And you can do alright in spvp even as condition… as long as you have good luck of getting on a team that has a clue. Otherwise its a waste of time.
