Necromancer minions
None of us know when. At the least it’s a known problem.

ya i really do want to know when they are fixing this, since i am a minion master :/ my flesh golem can get very dangerous when i chill in lvl 75-80 maps where there is only endless de.
I saw that only the melee minions have this issue(Flesh Golem, Bone Minions,Shadow Fiend), The Wurm, Blood Fiend and Bone Fiend don’t have this “disease”.
But luckily you can “force” them into combat, Flesh G. and Shadow F. by using their skills and the Bone Minions by positioning yourself and blowing them up.
ya the problem with that. sometimes your skills wont always be up therefor they sit they like a statue lol. also i’m not even complaining bout just the ai. it’s really annoying when my minions has to run all the way around a corner when they can just teleport to me when i decide to jump of a ledge or something. it’s alot of downtime for a necromancer which is bad.
I was gonna go minion mancer for lvling but seriously the pet ai is so bad i don’t even know why i bother having them out.
ANet standard response, “When it’s done.”
I don’t like MMs in GW2 (5 minions with maybe 1 occasional Jagged Horror that dies in 5 seconds that you can’t re-summon easily versus the 12 I could run in GW1? Blech). But, I understand how/why some may want it.
I honestly liked the first iteration of Necro MM in GW2… Bone Minions summoned 3 instead of 2, and a trait added +2 Bone Minions to make 5… Bone Fiend summons 2 with a trait, etc… It was possible to get 10 minions functional.
Sucks now. So, I moved on to conditions, wells, tanking, etc.

All I have to say is I want my MM back. This has always been my favorite style in any game (and in GW1 played it from launch to this day). Please make them viable again and I’d love a trait to get an extra minion per cast as Enerjak mentioned.

Pretty bummed out that MM isn’t working as intended. I sometimes get discriminated against for playing MM in dungeons, even though MM is supposed to be pve.
We don’t just have low DPS. We also have unreliable minions.
You do have low DPS, and your minions are unreliable at the same time. You also have no utility. You’re just… there. Taking up space better used on a Warrior or Guardian for more damage and equal survivability.
When you can deal 14k+ damage in 1 skill, then we’ll talk about Necromancer DPS.
MMs are at the bottom of the totem pole in that regard. 1-2 AoEs kills them all, neutering that DPS. A condition build will deal more DOT as well as (in many cases) more DD output. A Mark/Well build is capable of AoE and if built properly will deal massively greater damage than an MM, particularly to multiple targets.
I realize it hurts to hear. MMs were once among the most feared opponents in GW1. 1 MM could take on a whole party with 12 minions (stacking Death Magic beyond 20), impervious to 75% of all incoming damage, immune to conditions, and plenty of healing.
GW2? MMs are perhaps the easiest thing in PvP to destroy, across all professions and builds. Necromancers are already the bottom of the totem pole, but MMs would be what was buried to put that totem pole up in the first place.
Which is extremely sad, given how much I enjoy MM.

Glad to see I ain’t the only person here that loves doing the whole micro management of pets. Its what I rolled in many games (WoW, D2,D3, GW1, etc).
I did try out the condition build and honestly it got REALLY boring for me fast. For me it felt like a kite festival and just had to run around the target like a chicken with his head cut off. Plus what bothers me about it is the fact when you trying to destroy an object that’s part of a heart quest, takes forever and a day. I wanna see bursty numbers up with pets and I love seeing my target swarmed with my minions (when they’re working).
Anyone have a clue where we can input this bug even further to show that its really dreadful for people who really wanna work on an MM necro? Seems like they’re more worried with balance rather than just fixing simple things such as this (if it is a simple thing). If they did this, I can happily say goodbye to my Guardian and Elementalist.
FG hits harder then any other pet in the game infact he hits harder then a neco with daggers with the 30% harder hits is taken . If you play all of the skill we are given: Ds ,marks and wells with ground base cast at level 80 with your FG can take one mob after other or 2 mobs at the same time and Ill done even more .We are by far the strongest class when it comes to taken out mobs . But take away one skill things become much much harder .
Kills take time with us its easy to look over at a warrior and watch him drop man in 3 sec. and think we are out class but put us in a event and we get gold with one round of casting .That also means lots of loot at the end for us . Sometimes I cant even pick it all up without running into town and selling off some to open up space . That doesn’t mean the drop are any better still mostly junk!
When/if they ever do fix pet ai….i think it’ll be hard for me to not atleast have 3 of these things up at all times. They are very effective when they actually do what they’re supposed to…..sadly they are so unreliable i rarely use em.
