Necromancer needs better animations
I think animations are okay when you have them on high setting. Sure they could be fancier but Anet wont ever adress these issues. Simply because they already have a hard time fixing actual BUGs like Eles FGS Skill 5 or Warriors Bulls Charge.
If anything is gonna be changed about the animations of necros it should be reducing cast times so we dont get interrupted like a duck every kitten time. Also DS enter/exit interrupting actions is uncool.
I always liked the animations personally, for basically all of the weapons. Sometimes less is more, especially when you’re designing a game that can have dozens of people on-screen at once. If they took every class and embellished AoEs like you have Marks triggering above, you’re looking at a graphical nightmare.

Well, I disagree about graphical nightmare, The elementalist has really fancy spells and it works well. The graphics makes you ‘feel’ more powerfull
The game’s flashy enough imo. the best you could hope for are animations more in line with telegraphs so spells are easier to distinguish while casting.
Marks for example is something a lot of people have been asking for so they are easiest to distinguish which is being cast as the current casting animations are too subtle. Beyond that I wouldn’t hope for much unfortunately.
Definitely need better minion models…these things are flat out awful in my opinion.

On Marks other than Reaper’s Mark (which already has a very unique animation), they do need an adjustment to the animation, because the distinguishing features show up very late in the cast. On Chillblains and Putrid Mark, the unique effects show up at the very end of the cast. By the time you know what mark is being cast, it’s already hit you.
imo, besides the already mentioned golem, the worst animation/spell effect is the life-force bubble that floats towards you when something dies; that thing just looks awful.
cant there be some sort of black/green stream or something? like in this vid, just waaay smaller/weaker?
