Necromancers and support...
the build u linked is a zerker mm and not a support
never blinking “specialist”,

FTFY
A build is not defined by gear. The best support builds for pve all use berserker gear.
@op
Necro doesnt have many options for support. The best way to contribute to your group would be to provide control conditions, condi cleanse, crowd control and some blinds/weakness. So this means you probably want to spec for wells or atleast slot wells instead of minions. You can actually trait for full dps and still do this pretty well.

i don’t think necro should have any group support options at all outside of people blasting WoP. self support(attrition anyone? where is it?) however, is apparently essential to necromancer, yet i’ve never heard of anyone surviving two hambows with life siphons.
sorry for being sort of off topic :/
As true as Odin’s spear flies,

Fixed that for you. Siphons are in incredibly sorry shape.
Well. I feel silly.

I’ve always wondered what a support build would look like, but I think spoj nailed it. It should focus more on Wells and some offensive condition support. I think renewing blast would be too difficult to use to a point where it’s worth the investment. I love the life transfer heals though.
I love the life transfer heals though.
Best part about life transfer with transfusion is that it tries to heal you, but can’t due to DS. Another instance of our defense mechanism working against us.
I was working in a similar build. At the beginning I thought to use an Apothecary build so give healing and some damage in form of condition with the main idea that you apply little conditions dealing some damage but not enough to bother another eventual condition user.
I tried it: I doesn’t work really well. However playing with traits I found both Transfusion and Deathly Invigoration provide a good form of healing. Note that Transfusion can’t heal you but Deathly Invigoration does (since it heal when you leave Death Shroud).
I’m working on this build and this is what I realized but it’s still a work-in-progress:

I want to test Renewing Blast in favor of Signet Mastery and maybe drop one well in favore of Plague Signet but I’m not sure.
Or maybe I could drop Staff Mastery and use both but this trait makes the Staff #2 so quick that pratically you have permanent regen. Another alternative, maybe better, is to drop Staff Mastery in favor of Ritual of Protection
Siphon is only worth it if you take the trait that makes siphon stronger. Which limits you a lot, I’ve.been.thinking of a well siphon build to.support allies, protection siphon, plus what ever well can support a group.verry well.
Right, I changed the build up a bit, swapping Soul Reaping and Death Magic, dropping staff, grabbing some wells, and actually giving an idea on what weapon should be used where. Also, regen for days.
My question now is, should I swap the cleric stuff in favor of some magi, or just mix a little in?
