Guild Wars 2

I have been spoiled. The first character I rolled was a Necrow because I wanted to roll something similar yet foreign to me. After dinging her to 80 and attaining map completion on her, I’m just… I can’t seem to muster any interest in my alts or any other class. It might be because the majority of my alts are under 20, but is there another class that can satisfy me the same way I feel when I play on my Crow?

Just a little background, I like playing recklessly. I’ve grown a tad addicted to how Necrows melt the world around them while taking blows and consuming all those delicious conditions… Zeus. I’m having a bloody ball with epidemic and 12 enemies. I don’t even have a final gear set or whatever right now either….

Erk… Anywaysssss… I’m turned off at the idea of making 5 necro alts, but my little thief can’t take more than three without breaking a rib; my guardian feels fluffy and playstyle is a little funky to me right now; ranger pet collecting is amusing, but the bow skills disappoint me a bit; and my mesmer is just cute so I’ll level her sometime.

It’s/I’m strange I know, but anyone else in the same boat?

I like my alt mes, other classes seem boring/ too easy thief war guardian ranger.

Eng might be a good choice for you also.

Main: Necro. Played him since first beta.

Tried warrior and thief. Quickly got bored, too easy.
Mesmer is nice. It’s hard to play him after Necro (illusions =/= minions), but mesmers can be very tanky and it’s the best class for trolling in WvW.
Ele. I recently discovered a really awesome style of play for ele and want to try it out.
Guardian. Want one for dungeons. I just want stand in front of bosses and don’t give two kittens.
Engie. Just curious.

Ranger. The only class I won’t even try. Can’t play archer-ish classes. Just like can’t stand human characters.

I’m the same as you got my Necro to 80 working on getting full map completion with her now but I’d like to get one of each profession to 80. I’ve started levelling a Ranger and Warrior to 80 but I get bored of playing them very quickly ~ 30min at a time. I just love how Necro’s can stand in the middle of a mob and be beat on for ages while you lay down Wells, Marks, and eat through their health bars with daggers and Death Shroud.

Necro still has a lot of bugs and the trait lines annoy me with not being able to make optimal builds. But it is still one of the best if not the best Profession, though I still need to try a Mesmer, Thief and Ele. I might try one of those next.

I am in the exact situation as you. I’m an altaholic, so as I was levelling my Necro to 80 I made an ele and got it to 20, but cringed at the difficulty of surviving with 2+ mobs. I then made a guardian and got him to 20, and was having a ball recklessly twirling with my greatsword, but not even he could take on the enemies my necro could.

Next I made an engineer, and instantly fell in love with their traits. So many options, and all of them good! I got him to 20 as well, but he just couldn’t keep my interest. I tried a thief but only got him to 10. Thief wasn’t fun at all to me PvE. Lastly I have a level 7 ranger. So far its kinda fun pew pewing things, and the best setup I can find for taking out multiple enemies is Longbow for barrage, and axe+torch with flame trap for crazy tons of aoe fire. Alas, he still can’t survive like my necro. I may stick with him though at least until 20 or 30 to see if it gets better.

So has anyone found a profession yet that excels at taking on giant mobs of enemies while laying down a bunch of aoe and actually surviving? That is definitely my playstyle, and I just can NOT find a profession for it… Other than my lovely 80 Necro

It’s probably boring because it’s the same content over and over again… i’m having the same issues leveling up my 3rd and 4th characters (Warrior lvl 22, Ranger 40). Already have the Necro and Mesmer at 80.

I want to keep my ranger just because I took the time to collect 90% of the pets before hitting 15. Thief I am trying to keep because stealth just amuses me.

I was initially dabbling with all of these classes because I wanted to drop a pair of crafting disciplines on them and attain Master Crafter without having to cycle them on a single character. I guess I should look more in depth at engineer, but I suppose for now I’ll raise my mesmer to 80 then revisit this issue again.
