Hi everyone, I want to reroll my main into a necro since the warrior elite spec is so underehelming and I often find myself downed in the HoT areas as a zerk gear war.

I’m very noobish and I’d likesome help to figure out what gear could suit a necro: I ’m looking for decent dps while also being somewhat survivable in the Maguuma jungle.

You can play all the base content with full zerk gear but this isn’t the case with the HoT content.

I do play group content but I like exploring on my own to get all the mastery points/hero points etc

Thank you for the help!

You could start with Soldiers gear, maybe throw some zerker trinkets here and there. Or if you like playing condi, a mix of rabid and carrion should do the trick.

you can still play through HoT in zerker, its just harder than the base game, if you really cant play in zerker

I’ll check the vid out later, it’s nt like I can’t play zerker in HoT, but it’s kinda annoying to be downed and to always be around 10% hp during fights ^^’

Running a Rabid Condi Necro with minions is pretty idiot-proof. The extra Toughness will make you harder to down while the heavy condition damage will help burn down even the Mordem Husks pretty quickly. Meanwhile, the minions will provide a bunch of extra targets for enemies to deal with, giving you even more time to breath. You want to go Death/Soul Reaping/Curses for maximum tankiness (though you could switch to Spite/Soul Reaping/Curses for a bit more damage). You could also mix in some Carrion gear if that’s easier for you to get.

It also helps that you can get Rabid armor for Karma from one of the Orr temple vendors, making it basically free to gear up. There are also a lot of condi Rune sets you can pick up on the cheap, making it an even more economical setup.

The other option would be to take a mix of Knight’s and Valkyrie’s armor, go Spite/Soul Reaping/Blood, and load up on Wells for a nice Vampire build. You’ll tear people up while constantly healing yourself back at a good pace, and you won’t even be very squishy to begin with, either.

I main Ele and Necro, though I have an alt of each profession at level 80.
How to Condi Reaper on a budget
Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.

Allright sweet, thank you for the input! That video they linked me earlier is pretty kitten nice too! I will probably go for condi rabid build untill I hit level 80 and then work on getting the reaper elite spec to use that tanky/damaging reaper build, thank you guys for the help
