New Necromancer help
For leveling anything works, but power would probably be better.
I reccomend dagger/warhorn and axe/focus for power (I use dagger/focus and staff but that’s personal preference) just spam warhorn 5 when it’s off cooldown for mobility.
For utilities spectral walk for swiftness and well of suffering for more damage, 3rd one is optional.
For traits I’m not sure but probably start in spite for more power. But when you get your first trait point don’t put it in spite because the minor sucks….
This is very basic, so be sure to tweak things to your liking. Also, be sure to have fun while leveling, if condi is more enjoyable for you go condi. Hope it helped
The easiest would probably a minion build since you can afk and the minions will do the work (well unless the ai decides to bugout).
But i personally find minionmaster builds boring to play and probably a power build like Holl said will be faster.
But in the end everything should work the leveling content is not that hard.
I personally preferred the minion build when I was first starting out, because the minions scale to your level even when your gear doesn’t. Generally a minion build uses staff as the main weapon.
A wells build could definitely also work, so could a general power build. Feel free to experiment!
There isn’t really any “wrong” way to level. Try to get familiar with the different weapon combinations and see what feels right for you, and if you start to get bored of one you can switch to something else. Is there any particular build that’s piqued your interest?

It depends on how you are leveling. If you are just going around doing story and random open world stuff minions are super easy because they’ll always be at “max stats” for your level even if you still have gear thats 10 levels below the content you are in.
However, nowadays most people level through Edge of the Mists, in which case you should just bring a lot of ranged AoE and maybe a stunbreak or two.
I’d agree on Minionmaster, although take well of suffering over one of the minions, during low level stuff It’s beast for packs and even single mobs. For weapons, set one dagger/warhorn and for set two staff (For some quick control, easy get away! Never know when you hit a champ while not paying attention!)
Though I also agree on the have fun with it and try new things, while leveling you get to relax and experiment, so feel free to do so.

Sorry newbie question here, what do you mean by leveling through Edge of the Mists?

He means the WvWvW areas, also where you play against other servers for forts towers etc.
Edge of the Mists is a WvWvW area accessed by pressing B (its on the right). Its basically a 3 hour-long WvW session where all the various WvW servers come together to level their alts. Usually what happens is a commander will tag up, and run around the map capturing all the various locations, getting everybody in the zerg following them a ton of exp/karma/loot in the process. The enemy zergs do the same thing, so as you run to cap the enemy fort they are going to cap yours, and you all just kinda go in a big loop capping stuff and showering in obscene amounts of exp/karma. And then every so often someone’s commander decides to be a tryhard and attempts to wipe the other zerg, which tends to be about 50/50 as to whether it actually works or not, but tends to be hilarious and considered a bad idea by at least one person no matter what.
Anyway, basically if you want to level fast go to EotM with B, find the commander tag, and just stand directly on top of it doing whatever they do and follow them, and you’ll get a whole lot of levels.
Ok cheers I think I might level through exploring to start then maybe go on to that later. Thanks for everyone’s input!
