Also, my first character. Anyway, I was wondering what laurel gear I should buy? I’m going for a conditions build (the only viable one I guess to do as MM sucks in gw2). Also, anything I should do every day like the equivalent of dailys in WoW?

Also, I don’t really understadn gearing…. from what people are telling me, all the dungeons you run every day are for “SKINS” and you craft the gear with stats you want? So I guess I want gear with precision/power/condition damage and craft that with getting skins with what I want (ex. i want Twilight Arbor skins)

Well, doing the Daily Achievement gets you laurels, so you’re killing two birds with one stone there.

As for which gear, the true Condition Necro gear is the +Precision/Toughness/Condition Damage spread (called Rabid), with Condition Damage being the main attribute.

Before you spend all those laurels though, I’d suggest combing through the forums and looking at build posts, as there is far more than just one viable build. Also, Minion Master doesn’t suck! Don’t believe what you hear. It’s just less common/understood.

Cheers on 80!

EDIT: Fixed a typo.

Crafting can only get you certain attribute combinations. Dungeon gear can have attribute combinations that are the same as what you can craft, as well as ones that you can’t craft (and are therefore unique to specific dungeons). So, dungeon gear can be both for the unique skins AND unique stats, not just the skins.

Power/Precision/Condition Damage is the Rampager attribute combination, FYI.

Check out the GW2 Wiki and look up crafted armor and dungeon armor to see what you can get from where.

Conditionmancer is the easiest way to play. Minions Don’t suck, they are just different, and the powermancer is increcdible. We have so many builds it’s hilarious. Here is my three step process for Learning about the Necromancer!

1) CHIPSSS Encyclopedia of Necro skills

2) Nemesis Tutorials

3) SOACGaming Podcast - sittingonacouch.com for audio only

Each of these are fantastic ways to get immersed into the spirit of the Necromancer and what they bring to the table.

Ignore the hate. The Necromancer does have a learning curve, but the more you play it the more you will enjoy it or find that maybe it’s not for you.

Good luck and if you have any specific questions as you level, don’t be afraid to come back here!

Don’t waste your laurels just yet. I recommend you to get cheap gear (green) and try all the stats you can.

And don’t follow guides/builds you found online since each players is very different and what may work for someone, may be your worst nightmare.
I will never use a CD build since it’s the worst/useless build IMO but if that work for you then you should use it despite what I said.
And I can do pretty much everything as a MM and sure, I can give you my build but just because it work great for me, don’t means it going to work for you.

And finally, there is way more things besides CD or MM, you just need to find them and most important, try them by yourself.

Why fix the Necromancer for free when we can charge $$$ for the Revenant
