Guild Wars 2

Hi, I just started and my highest lvl character is lv 50 necro.
I want to try pvp, but whenever I try to look up builds there’s a lot of confusing abbreviations (what is MM for example?) and ppl posting numbers like 30/30/10 without saying what weapons, what 67890 skills they’re using, and what traits they’re taking for the major trait slots.

So for someone who likes to pretty much dps in place without doing too much fancy dodging and positioning, what’s a easy to play, noob-friendly build that’s pretty good at killing players and surviving in pvp?

I would like info about:
1) what weapons to use (including a good rotation for 12345 and suggestions on when to swap weapons generally)
2) what traits to take in major trait slots, in addition to the #\#\#\#\#
3) what stats my armor/weapons should have (like is toughness essential for pvp in this game the way resil is in wow?)
And, most importantly,
4) what skills to use in the 6,7,8,9,0 slots

There use to be a thread pinned on top of this forum, which would have not only answered but also explain an justify every build so you as a player can get a baseline from where to start.

You’re asking to cut through the experience and learning of a new class/game so you can get straight to the “pwnage”. Even “easy” builds like terrormancer would require you to understand all the little nuances so that you’re not immediately destroyed by some guy that’s been dealing with that build for the past 5 months. Despite all the auto-attacking and passivity of necromancer, you still need a bit of knowledge to do well.

Oh well, have it your way.

Standard Terror/Dhuumfire build. Make tweaks as you see fit, nothing is set in stone.

Take a staff and dagger/dagger as 2nd set.
Go for minion master stuff.

I picked the game up again like 2 weeks ago and I was stunned at the amount of minion masters in sPvP because when I dropped the game initially there were close to 0.
Seriously, after I got the hang of it you can just smash most people, even when they are fairly better than you.
I dropped necro for sPvP then, since I just did the MM spec for fun but the experience was too meh, I don’t know of course at the start satisfying but then I felt dumb since every lobby there were at least 3 of us.
I don’t know my traits anymore, but I am not sure if they really do matter after all, as long as you get your staff stuff to 30.

You can swap out the 2 utility skills that is not the signet of spite for ur choice.

I recommend u not use this, it teaches u bad habits, but is very strong nonetheless
