I suggest that they introduce new skills called pools. When activated it creates a pool of… Blood, chilling stability anything. This pool goes with you so its like an aura. It would help create more up front and in your face necros. Some examples of pools would be pool of locust:blinds enemies in the radius of the pool for x anount of time
Pool of terror: torments enemies in the radius for x
Pool of strength:grants might to allies in the radius.
Also this could introduce a new heal skill that can aoe siphon for x amount of time and also heal for a fixed amount of hp. The difference from wells is that the pools stick to you like auras

So, mini-plagues that traded increased stats for being able to use skills.

Or extra Locust Swarm type effects.

I don’t know if this is different enough from wells to really need a new skill time. If its moving with the necromancer I’m still a bit skeptical on the idea. Now if this granted effects to allies then I think it could be more interesting. Much like the Orders from GW1.

They wouldn’t likely add a whole skill type to this, considering it is already done to a degree with current skills. You’re basically just asking for a PBAoE effect that has a duration attached to it and stays on you – more Locust swarm type mechanics but with different effects.

They wouldn’t likely add a whole skill type to this, considering it is already done to a degree with current skills. You’re basically just asking for a PBAoE effect that has a duration attached to it and stays on you – more Locust swarm type mechanics but with different effects.

Probably not. Although, if it was something like an ability that passed from ally to ally, much like disease used to only in a beneficial way, that could be an interesting mechanic. However, at the same time I don’t think that the necromancer needs something like that at the moment.

I want to see “Direct Damage Corruptions” that eat your health in order to deal damage/CC enemies.
