Oh, we got alot of our bugs fixed this week, yay!
Didn’t know Chillblains was broken.
You learn something new every day. :|
Not like there is much to type. This is what we got…
Necromancer
Updated Chillblains to properly function with the Greater Marks trait.
Granted that that was a very annoying bug, but once again we got the short end of the stick, very little love for the necromancer. Maybe next time.
Yeah its amazing to see their dedication to fixing our >100 bugs. You can tell arenanet are working very hard around to clock to address issues with what is currently the worst and most broken class in the game.
Dear ArenaNet,
Thank you for fixing a bug. I use greater marks and appreciate it.
Best,
A Volcano
P.S.: See? It’s not so hard to be courteous is it?
So there I was… reading up on the new patch notes… excited to see what bugs they fixed this time. So I’m scrolling down reading everything eagerly and then I reach the Necromancer… “We fixed ONE bug.” I let out a desperate manic laugh. It’s so sad that it’s incredibly funny. I don’t know why I expected anything more… Reminds me of the “Stormstrike got a new icon” from WoW Shaman days.
I’m kinda disappointed only one of the currently existing 75 bugs were fixed.
S/I/F engineer Z/R/D guard
Necros have had the biggest updates for the two previous updates, there are other classes with bugs you know.
Granted that that was a very annoying bug, but once again we got the short end of the stick, very little love for the necromancer. Maybe next time.
Necromancers have been getting the most attention in the latest patches, all other boards have been aware of this, and one day, just because a single patch focuses on nerfing problematic professions over necromancer’s fixes, then oh my god, the disgrace! The world is ending! The necromancers have never gotten any attention at all!
P.S. The elementalists are filled and crippled with bugs too, with only one or two viable builds that we know will be nerfed sometime soon, and their list of bug fixes has been minimal until today.
List is too big to re-post here
You are a horrible kitten and in no way a gentleman or a scholar and even if you are female this still stands. I saw this thread before I saw the patch notes so my disapointment was mighty but unfortunatly expected. I expected us to get nothing though so HOORAY I suppose.
EDIT: If the singular fix was minions working I would actually be happy with it being a singular fix.
^ OP is a genius.
And what DiogoSilva is correct, while the Necro may not have been in the spot light for the first few patches, it had some big ones after that and one during a stress test prior to launch.
It’s just that none of it really did any groundbreaking changes for the class like the Mesmer/Thief patches (stress test prior to launch patch).
If they continue fixing the necro bugs at this pace, I guess I can uninstall the game and try again a year later.
The necro profession has sooooooo much room for improvement, but they are not even able to perform the most basic task of fixing bugs that are known for over month in a timely fashion.
Really disappointing.
Actually, signet of spite got fixed too, but they put that note in the guardian listings.
“it doesn’t make you spend hours preparing to have fun, rather than having fun”
Guild missions say otherwise.

You serious? More than 50% of our bugs existing since first BWEs and been reported thousand times, but still ignored. Eh, I won’t start this conversation all over again..
Just don’t post if you got no clue.
A bug got fixed, this is good news.
Necro is already borderline overpowered when played as a tank class.
I have an 80 necro with full exotic and recently stared an engineer who is mid 30s. In my estimation, the engineer does 1.5 x as much damage but the necro is 10x more survivable than the engineer? Good trade off? Depends on how much you value tankiness I guess.
Remember necro in BWE1 when it was completely overpowered. I know many people are in a state of denial and/or don’t value tankiness at all, but necro is already on the knife edge of being overpowered. We have an extra lifebar, we have the maximum health of any classes anyway, we have life siphoning and now bloodthirst works with vampiric.
If you buff it too much, we will be unkillable in normal pve (not dungeons, obviously) and spvp (not wvw obviously). This is a classic case of “grass is always greener on the other side.” If you think profession xxx is so much more powerful, go ahead and play it. If you don’t miss the survivability of necro, enjoy your new profession. If you do, come back and don’t whine so much.
Actually, signet of spite got fixed too, but they put that note in the guardian listings.
Hit refresh, suddenly it’s in the Necromancer listing. It’s magic.
Still, a bugfix on Greater Marks is nice. Signet of Spite being castable on the move is nice, but lawlSignetofSpitesucksanyway.
I’m still waiting for “fixes” for my heals (because I know one is not a bug, and I sometimes have a hard time believing the other is — though it is listed in the bugs thread, I’m thinking maybe it’s just a poor judgement call on the dev side), but this fix is still gonna be awesome! Suddenly my Chillblains will no longer be puny, now ya’ll will eat that kitten!
Dai Va — Necromancer
Dae Va — Elementalist
1 bug fix is way better than none like a previous patch had.
@Volcano, it definitely ISN’T a case of the grass is greener. I’ve played a high level Mesmer and everything that made pve not fun was fixed before release for them, they got huge buffs to damage and improvements to many of their skills and utilities. I’ve played a friends 80 warrior, and its seriously the most OP kitten ever in PvE and a super strong class when I played one in sPvP. I have a level 20ish engineer, and they definitely do much more than 1.5x more damage. Its close to 2x damage with the build I use. And I have an 80 guardian and feel like it does far more damage and is a helluva lot more fun to play.
ok i am convinced they are just trolling us at this point. fix our class!
DiogoSilva.708 – actually, not really, eles got about half as many bugs as necros (while other professions around 1/4th, thus necros should still be on top of the fix list).
I am glad they fixed this bug though, it was a pretty important one.
@ Volcano: Kinda don’t understand your post? We want bug fixes, not changes to the class that will make them op, bug fixes will just allow more builds. So far Ele, Necro and Engi are kinda forced to play a couple of builds just because the bugs make the other builds unreliable/outmatched but other builds.
I’m happy for any bug fixes/fixes in general, I guess people seem to forget that a class nerf affects everyone? Pistol whip had a nasty nerf – means you can survive quickness whip spam a lot better than before. Be happy something actually got done.
Kittens, Kittens everywhere!
I really don’t understand. Is the point to get us to shut up about how weak we are so we do appreciate bug fixes whenever they do happen? I mean, at this point I am not even hoping for buffs, I am hoping that even half of our bugs get fixed.
I hate to say it, but I am done for now. I may log in and pvp as my thief with friends, but I think it is time to catch up on Dota.
My god, at this point just some words would be appreciated.
“Our data has found that necros are/are not in a good place. in sPvP. We are keeping our eye on the profession.”
“We understand you have many bugs. The reason we have not fixed them is because… "
“We appreciate that some of your skills are unusable. This is unacceptable. We are trying to get a fix out by…”
Something like that goes a long, long way.
I was disappointed with the fact that it was only one fix…but if there was just going to be one fix, this was a good one. Now picking up that trait is a viable option. Might fiddle with it again in WvWvW tomorrow.
Would be great if they next fixed the 5 point trait before it, the jagged horror one. That one is almost the same as the slot just being empty.
Well, joking aside, I think the main reason behind this week’s lack of changes is the fact that after recent bug fixes some necros <who mastered DS ofc> started to own so bad. Anet received alot of whiny reports from thieves and mesmers. So they decided to stall bug-fixing process for a while, to let meta-game stabilize and see wtf is going on.
/sarcasm for some ppl who don’t understand..
^^ Butthurt is so strong with this one. Am I upset that the only fix we got was on one small bit of a trait this patch? Yes, I mean, just one fix makes you kind of /facepalm when the trait they picked isn’t even the one they can fix to help the necro the most.
Is it annoying that a lot of the bugs were reported in BWE and still remain unfixed? Of course, but the Necromancer isn’t the only one in that situation, just the one in the worst situation. Other classes while may not have as extensive of a bug list as we do (Engineers are close), but their bug fixes aren’t exactly happening at a faster rate than ours. They just have it better because they have less bugs/design issues hindering them compared to Necros.
I hate that so many MMO players only see the game in the scope of THEIR class. I think Necromancers are pretty important and deserve better, but I also know they’re far from the only one with glaring issues. By being so narrowly focused, you also lose perspective on the game balance as a whole.
I’m not trying to defend the class or ANet’s actions, in fact, I’ve posted a lot about why the class is in such a horrible state. But you and the type of posters like you add nothing useful to the discussion but QQ. I actually thought your OP was humorous in the way you structured it, but turns out you’re just as bitter as balls.

@Lumines
You are 100% right. People do seem to have a tendency to focus in too strongly on “their” toon.
(I am speaking 100% about sPvP here):That said, I am concerned with the state of the Necro because it isn’t fun. As I mentioned, we have one viable build that is outclassed by some other classes in a similar build.
When I play on my thief and mesmer, I pick traits and get upset because I want them all, but I can’t have them all. When I pick traits on my Necro, I get upset because I barely want any of them.
I love our class mechanic, but it synergizes (god I hate that word) poorly with many builds and seems to be the reason the devs are having such a hard time balancing us.
We are loaded with bugs, some of which legitimately render skills unusable (I am looking at you ‘Corrupt Boon’).
Finally, we are bogged down by the world’s dumbest pets, and despite having an “extra health bar,” we are rather squishy.
To top the state of the necromancer off, we have received almost no word on where the class stands, where it is headed, or even what to expect regarding bugs. Hell, at this point a “We are working on it. These things take time.” would go a really, really long way. Many of us feel fairly forgotten, and a lot of us have already rolled new pvp toons.
@Minion of Vey
That trait is actually worse than there not being anything there. Unless it has been fixed (and I don’t recall seeing it), downed professions are able to use those worthless bone minions to stand up and rejoin the fight.
In these 5 years of development I have followed every single new about this game with hunger of more. I used to think “it will be the best game of the year, hell no! It will be THE game”.
Sadly, I have to say now that I’m done with this game. I will come back when something really changes.
I’ve played Guild Wars 1 around 2000~ hours. I really enjoyed the PvE and the PvP. EVERY aspect of the game, seriously. But what have this game to offer? High-end PvE is just repeat that explorable dungeon, yeah that one that has the armor you like. I’ve completed my Twilight Arbor’s armor for my necro and I’ve explored 100% of the map. What is the point of PvE now? Farm every day to get a legendary staff that doesn’t fit with my look? YAAAY.
WvWvW is fun for some moments, but it’s not a enjoyable mode to play it every day.
PvP? I’ve reached dolyak too (rank 20) and I’m very very very very bored of this PvP.
No sense of progression at all, no achievements to pursuit (like hold Hall of Heroes in GW1) only get some chests to get random armor pieces to destroy and throw them into Mystic Forge to have a chance of getting a nice armor piece (if you don’t already have it).
And my favourite part…. Necromancers. I freaking love them in GW1. Death Shroud sounded very cool when this game was only in demos. But now? 1 month and a half has passed since the launch and we only have a real viable build in tPvP and we still have around 70 bugs? WTF!?
PS.: Sorry for the rage and the long post (and for my English if it’s bad) but I’ve just exploded when I saw that ridiculous patch notes….

Dear ArenaNet,

Dear ArenaNet,
Thank you for fixing a skill most of us didn’t even know was broken. Oh, and thank you for breaking the one skill that, though the passive was already broken, could get me out of sticky situations since we are so squishy.
And thank you for fixing most of the mesmer. They had soooo many bugs, I am surprised you were able to fix most of them.
Best,
Doctor Why
PS. Thank you for nurfing pistil whip. Seriously. It could 1 shot a necro if the Thief speced into it (though they would be squishy too), and the necro didn’t spec into the useless toughness line. <3 (I am being serious on this one)
PSS. It is seriously hard to be thankful for ANet taking our money, and not caring about our class as much as others. Most of us wouldn’t be so butt hurt if they made a nice post of “here is where we are going with the necro, and this is why we only fixed 2 bugs”… But they don’t care…
has close to death influence on bleeding and condition damage?? or is it a bug??
@DoctorWhy
The chillblains fix is actually rather significant, should’ve been fixed from the first pass but it’s nice that they got it this time around.
Also I don’t think you understand the meaning of what you call mesmer “fixes”… There where no bug fixes for them there, those where straight up nerfs. I don’t think we want that kind of attention for our class atm.
Only one fix? Less work for me at editing the thread… (Jk)
(eyeroll) Whine less.
In the patch previous to this one, we necromancers got more fixes than any other class did. We can’t win ’em all.

That’s not a bug.
Tarnished Coast
Well i notice they did fix Chillblains, but now all the rest of the marks are not affected by the Greater Marks trait now. Good job 1 step forward two steps back. It seems every time they fix stuff more things break. It’s really awesome playing a broken class with a broken runeset in a game that is plagued with bugs.
@Yarak
Uhh… all of them are affected by Greater Marks still. Just that they fixed the AoE targetting radius gfx for chillblains and the rest are still the same. The actual spell effects have the same radius when you trait for it.

it’s only the target which isn’t right, the mark and AoE are correct
huh im in game right now and chillblaines is the only big mark all the rest look small like they are not being affected by greater marks.
Well i stand corrected. Its just a visual bug after you cast it it leaves a bigger circle on the ground they just messed up the size of the other marks before you cast.

Already been reported and confirmed.
80 Necro, 80 Ranger, 80 Warrior, 80 Mesmer, 80 Engineer.
so they fix greater marks but still manage to mess it up. all the marks have different targeting sizes. if it takes 3 fixes to fix just 1 trait we are in for a long long wait to get our class fixed as a whole.
Didn’t they just nerf a bunch of OP classes this week? To even the playing field. There was no reason to expect buffs or bug fixes galore this week. The attention was on nerfing other classes, for crying out loud.
Ghost-rage has it right. This forum is such a whine-fest. When I read forum posts, I imagine the voice of the writer in my head as I read. In my head, most of the Necromancers sound like whiny twelve-year old boys. I bet these posts sound the same way in the head’s of our illustrious game developers.
this one ( by bug compilation):
Condition Damage
(NB0077) Traits that increase “% output damage” are not improving conditions damage.
means that close to death and target the weak should influence bleeding too.. right??
