Just a bit of speculation, but I found it really peculiar that they randomly gave Dagger MH self-bleed, with enhanced damage while bleeding.

Many updates ago, ANET removed Tomes from Guardian and said they may return in a future elite spec. Since they are reusing ideas, what if they will bring back the Beta Mallyx too?

One of the reasons Beta Mallyx was removed was because it upset the Necromancer community a lot. So wouldn’t it be fitting if it returned as a Necro spec?

I can’t seem to recall any “huge” change between beta mallyx and the current one… But I doubt that we will have what’s removed from this legend. That’s simply because if it has been removed, it was for balance sake not to satisfy the necromancer’s community.

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

I believe they changed mallyx because it was hard in co-operative play when team mates cleanse their conditions when they don’t want them cleansed. So I’m surprised to see that kind of mechanic at all.

Putting conditions on ourselves was a mainstay of Guild Wars 1 Necromancers, it was all about risk vs reward. Perhaps A.net is trying to bring more of that back now and in the future spec? I dunno, I hope so. It made for some interesting gameplay.

If the condition copy could return, I’m sure it would come back to Mallyx because that would save a lot of work on re-designing traits, rebalancing legends and silence people who want old Mallyx back.

I think there are enough unexplored areas for Necromancer elite specializations (like anything with treating life force as a resource) that you can make a brand new mechanic.

Besides, having both condition copy and condition transfer would’ve been a bit of an overkill.
