Overview of Necromancer by Symbolic [PvP]
Hi,
i really like your epidemic + HGH engi combo. Too bad Teldo doesn’t like it.
For the most part i agree with your evaluations. Especially the disposable minion part hit the nail on the head. A probably pretty stupid idea i had for blood fiend was to let it heal on summon and on activation. For the active to become usable it needs to do x attacks. If the healing numbers would be worthwhile this could create encounters in which you want to kill the fiend in order to not let the necro heall for a significant amount. Similar to the good times when you struggle to interrupt the healing book wielding guardian.
Some things i would like to see changing which you seem to be fine with:
Reduced durations and cooldowns on wells. I would like to see them brought more closer to ranger traps. At the moment they really feel unforgiving if you misplaced them or someone blinks/dodges out.
I also don’t like how the 2nd effects of spectral walk and spectral armor are so counter intuitive. Generally you want to absorb damage/burst with Death shroud and while both of these skills have their uses in recharging DS they still require you to take a beating to use your absorb/defensive toolset.
Maybe those 2 skills should let a percentage of your received damage be applied to your life force bar?
Oblivion, are you west coast or east coast? I would love to catch you ingame some time. You need a better format and a good editor to clean it up a bit, or at least have it broken down a bit into sections. However, it’s a pretty good very basic view of the Necromancer.
I think you severely shortchange MM, but most people do. The reason the axe is underwhelming is because it’s designed to work at best with Minions. I don’t think it’s designed to work as your main weapon, but rather as a weapon to use when needed.

I probably show my bias when talking about the axe/minions, I just don’t feel they’re viable in the slightest, atleast in the current pvp meta. Feel free to add me ingame though i’m online quite alot.
Anyone can feel free to add me in game, I’m also considering making video guides for necromancer. Would appreciate feedback to let me know if the necro community would like this.
Personal opinion only. Very nice appraisal. A good summary for anyone looking at the necro…especially players new to the profession. When read in conjunction with some of the posts on specialty builds it gives a great foundation to experimenting a little.
Something that would help the newer folks, and folks like me who quit and came back, would be to put the descriptions of skills ahead of your evaluations of them. Good site overall though, thank you for your work.

I also like it on temple, but I don’t think Necro is very good on temple so I don’t run it, but having the daze on the ball communer/carrier, having the swiftness and cripple….
