Anyone else love this new trait as much as I do? I get so much return for conditions applied I’m actually feeling like it’ll end up getting nerfed.

I hate it so much /sarcasm Here, let’s hope anet can’t detect sarcasm so it won’t get nerfed to the ground.

Soloing the champion giant in Orr almost became trivial, the more spawns he threw at me the easier the fight was. I haven’t had a chance to test it in PvP (I imagine its not stellar in battles as small as a 1v1), but its a welcome addition to PvE.

It’s not getting nerfed. It has hardly an effect in PvP, where it would be balanced against. Honestly I expected it to be more effective, but even under the most optimal settings it is pretty lackluster.

Does it address sustain issues? No…. but you can pair it with a bunch of other stuff and cobble together a sustain like build, but they never work right because siphons and this trait and everything else don’t work in deathshroud, our only defense mechanism.

Taking the same build for condi siphoning pre-patch it heals slightly more, and deals significantly less damage. It needed to scale with healing power.

I think the idea is fine. Its supposed to be an effective way for new non-Dhuumfire users to trade a little bit of offense for sustain, and I think it’ll be fine at just that. Don’t expect it to make your condition builds full sustain builds, its just to keep you in fights more.

Either way I absolutely love it personally. Path Of Corruption is also great. I personally love stripping my opponents of their defenses and a big part of the reason I love Necromancer so much is all the boon removals. Axe #3 Unholy Feast, Corrupt Boon, Focus #5 Spinal Shivers, Spinal Shivers trait and now Path Of Corruption as well. There are others of course, but these are all the ones I have available to me at any given time with my current build. Which, with the addition of Path Of Corruption, means boon removals/conversions for daaaaayssss <3. I’m so happy with the new additions !

In pvp this trait is usless. Why? Becouse to get some heal u need to stuck a lot of condis but if u are able to stack a lot of condis u are not on presure so u dont need healing and oposite when u are focused u are not able to stack enough condis to get some good healing.

My first impression is that, as expected, it’s a reasonably effective trait in a zerg fight. Other than that there’s not much to write about. Just like the vampiric traits it scales with the number of targets and consequently has to be balanced to take that into account – which makes it largely ineffective in small scale fights, precisely where you need sustain the most. When the Babysitter Blob™ is around you usually have a place to hide anyway.

So yeah, a decent trait, but it doesn’t really address the sustain issues on the necro.

Yep my thoughts exactly. I saw it tick for 700 last night though… the way it calculates healing is interesting, it basically gives you a tick for each condition each second for 5%, so your screen really gets cluttered. That 700 was from bleeding, and a lot of bleeding it was. That was near max condition damage, 15+ bleeds, and it hit 4-5 additional targets. Also it dropped signficantly as soon as everyone started going down.

Unfortunately in that situation the skill is pointless. If I am dealing that much AOE condition damage, I don’t need any healing at all, because they are all going to die.

Seems to be just a worse siphon trait for a lot more trait points and of course it is situational to condition builds only. Not to mention it literally does nothing when you are full HP, where at least siphons deal some damage.

Even though the trait is worthless in a pvp or wvw setting still in most cases it’s better than dumbfire just remember that if your options close to death or parasitic contagion, you wouldn’t choose dumbfire.

May the path of Grenth forever yield the death of your enemies. Necromancer, death brings us closer.

The only thing I found strange is that it does not tick on the self damaging part of corruption skills. Is this a bug or not?
