Plague will be devastating after the update
Necro may be the first profession where race matters. For necro now, I would suggest someone be human for the racial healing and racial elites. The Dwayna heal isn’t terrible, has a decent CD, and there are no ill effects; the Reaper of Grenth is very similar to Plague only no blind, no stability, and lower uptime (5 sec), but again no ill effects.
Sylvari also have some decent racial skills for healing and elites but Reaper of Grenth at least allows you to ‘feel’ like a Necro when you use it.
Man, the synergy that Plague could have with the Well trait is beautiful.

And they’re like “well we cant have necro players not spending money on HoT and all becoming reapers. Lets make their only useful heal bad and make them hurt themselves by using their own skills! Brilliant!” Shouts dont looks so crap now, do they?

They still do and the dash change made them publicly mentioned that it negatively affected reaper. This is really turning out to be a loss-loss situation.

The thing is, with such a bad base class a lot of people won’t want to even become a Reaper because Reaper will suck by the foundations it is build upon. Also a lot of people would have gotten it for the new shroud alone, and the GS was pretty dope too.

Yeah, if you don’t try to do anything it basically removes half your HP, if you build for it you can kill yourself.
Avoid at all cost just use golem for extra LF.

Managed to remove 70% of my health in heart of the mists lobby with a full condi build.
I tried running a full-minions poison-stacking suicide bomber necro earlier….
It didn’t work so well. I am incredibly disappointed, you have no idea.
Will try again when I can add Rise! minions for 9x the kabloom.

Kinda funny how people say “they only balance for sPvP” and yet the only place where you could (potentially) make Plague manageable is WvW (altho I had no time to test anything yet, personally). They MUST have had WvW in mind for the balance for this skill otherwise it makes 0 sense in sPvP… there’s no way you’ll be able to outsustain that in sPvP. And why does it pulse bleeds? Sure…. Plague is a pulsing ability but so it Corrosive Poison cloud and IT doesn’t constantly debuff you. Plague should honestly do an x amount of stacks for x number of secs with only one pulse when you first use the skill. That way it’s manageable with generosity sigil or that curses Plague Signet trait.

With full Rabid, activating all corruption utilities + plague and just standing there dropped me to roughly 3k hp when all of them wore off. Stacking Might first then doing so I think the lowest I could manage was 1k… however, just using BiP gets you quite low already, then activating plague AFTER will kill you.
In PvE with the extra buffs you can get (food etc) you could likely kill yourself with it without any real effort at all, but otherwise simply activating Plague when not on full hp is enough.

Maybe if Plague would be something like this:
“Self bleed every seconds, transfer all of your conditions to all foes in area every 3 seconds”.. still bad for surviving, but at least more offensive..
Well yes, I’m aware of that skill and that sig. That’s no reason to not have that functionality. Access to a mechanic means different things for different professions. Rangers and Engis can each drop fire fields that pulse burn, but Bonfire and Fire Bomb mean different things to them. A revenant not using Mallyx won’t ever have that functionality (though they also have a trait that does similar).
Plague copying conditions to foes would give the skill a functionality fairly reminiscent of GW1 Disease. And we really shouldn’t care what revenant’s can do since Mallyx is essentially Corruption skills done again, but Mallyx elite and Plague serve different functions.
