(sPvP) After some testing, i don’t really feel like going 20 into DM to get Gmarks, i’m ok with having a range exactly between 120 and 240.

The build i am comfortable with atm seems to be 30/20/0/0/20 with Dhuumfire, Terror, and either Soul Marks or Master of Terror.

It is nice to be able to generate more LF with a condy build using Soul Marks but then the Spectrals may be sufficient enough for that, as well as going 20 into SR provides more LF gen already and a free Spectral Armor at 50% HP.

What do you think? How did the Gmarks switch change your build? Will you still grab it? Or will you ignore Dhuumfire completely for Foot in the Grave?

Please discuss which condy builds you find yourself comfortable with after the patch, i have a feeling a lot of builds will in-fact change.

This is now the go-to build for me. Soul Marks is a huge survivability buff.

Some people will still need it because they struggle to aim and don’t pay enough attention to block, but the extra survivability from 20 in Soul Reaping is great.

I don’t think you’ll see many 240 radius marks. Last gasp is even more awesome than before, and the soul reaping majors are as tasty as ever. Master of terror for me, ridiculous fear durations with burning and terror, my burst damage actually increased, although not by as much as my survivability. The main loss is not being able to fear guard heals.

The 180 radius is one of the biggest buffs ever, and the melandru fix is pretty nice too, but of course the necro forum is full of tears. When isn’t it?

I tried 30/20/0/0/20 really hard after the Sigil of Paralyzation “fix”, when marks had a radius of 120, but it was nightmarish to land on fast moving targets. Now, not only we have improved marks radius, but Last Gasp got buffed to the point it is an almost required trait. So, 30/20/0/0/20 all the way !

Personally, I find Soul Mark lack luster, not generating enough (but I haven’t played since the DS “fix”), and I prefer longer fear as it is both a defensive and offensive condition. Or maybe because I love to be feared. evil grin

Balance team is a bunch of clowns, hurting the game to the full extent of their abilities.

I am actually a little sad now, because I feel inclined to run this as well. Terror nerfs and the sheer insanity of ignoring burning have really created this as the go to build, even for wvw. I like the survival, I don’t like that I still have no real incentive to care about blood magic.

It came down to mark of blood or soul marks and free spectral armor. Not hard to see what I took.

Hate it when patches blow up diversity, especially when at first glance, I thought the gm changes were going to open the door for me to go 20 into blood magic… Just doesn’t seem worth it.

Ye Master of Terror was and is my first option too, i find this build to be a very balanced build in terms of survivability and damage. The only play style change i have made since the patch is making sure i burn any blocks that i see on people before applying fear.
