6x runes of the ogre

Overview

This is a hard spec to play but one I find really rewarding I don’t like to play condition specs even though that’s what brought me to necromancer in the 1st place pretty much because I like to try my own thing and I enjoy power builds too much.

In team fights regardless of numbers this build excels as it puts out a lot of aoe damage and I often find that im able to down multiple people quite easily. I have had situations in the past where our team has been outnumbered and we are able to win basically due to the fact we drop them so quickly.

Its also great at putting pressure on people trying to res or stomp due to fact that they will eat a lot of well/mark damage if and when they try, a lot of the problems people have with wells it seems is that they say they can easily be avoided and while that’s true when assaulting or defending a point they have to commit to try to take or hold the point which is where it works very effectively

Also the wells are not the only forms of aoe this has, You deal a lot of damage though your marks, aoe retaliation, life transfer and aoe fireblast from sigils.

Strengths

High damage
Great in team fights
Great aoe
Great for pressuring ressing/stomping
Point assault/holding

Weaknesses

Weak one on one
Low survivability

Additional Points

While I concede that dagger is a better damage weapon the axe, axe allows you to stay at range and has a high damage aoe retaliation and are the 2 reasons why I chose it over daggers also the channel ability can do quite a lot of damage.

I am using 6 rune of the ogre after someone suggested it I have tried runes of the thief and divinity and im unsure which is better

The last utility is a preference I like flesh worm purely for the escape spectral walk is also good, as well as blood is power and signet of undeath.

I have also used started using 30 in curses mainly to try and see how well withering precision will work in an aoe capacity.

Conculsions

I hope someone finds this useful and if anyone has any way trait or runes/sigils choices to make it better without compromising the build ill be happy to listen.

It would also be good if we had a place where people could put there videos and build so we didn’t lose them…

Don’t fall into the trap that a class has to be played a certain way innovation comes from trying different things.

Also this is my 1st video be gentle.

Aka Bile.

Nice vid!

I sometimes run pretty much the exact same build with the same utilities, substituting Signet of Undeath for Flesh Worm (in sPvP not tPvP) as the ability to stun break and port up to ledges helps negate some of the glassy nature of 30/30/10. I also use Runes of the Thief because it’s an extra +8% critical chance, condition damage boost for Barbed Precision crits, Mark of Blood and Well of Corruption (when applicable), and +10% damage when behind/beside your target. Also I prefer Golem over Lich in any build involving Wells because the knockdown plus cripples/fears inside Wells gets you more usage out of the Well damage, but I also know Lich #1 spam is beast especially with Time Warp or even a Sigil of Rage proc so it’s pure preference of course. I would also drop Death’s Embrace in favor of Spiteful Spirit because of how glassy the build is, having the extra 3 sec of Retaliation on DS is helpful.

If you want to try something a little different, use the exact same setup you have except switch Withering Precision for Lingering Curse and use Scepter/Dagger MH. Everything else keep the same. Sounds weird because S/D is considered condition build viable only but trust me it works great in a glassy power build like this. You get the 900 range, you do slightly less damage but it’s more consistent, you have AoE cripples, Feast of Corruption I’ve seen in this trait setup critting for ~5k. Plus you get better condition transfer and a 3 target blind which both help survivability. Just something to play around with.
